Do you ever sell your prizes???

  • I generally only enter comps for things I would like to win, but I have entered a couple of comps to win a car (I know the chances of winning are slim! ) with the sole intention of selling it, I really don't see it as being greedy, just an opportunity to pay for other things.

Having said that I don't even get the Nigerian lottery emails so the chances of me winning anything are slim to none! :rotfl:
  • I have only just joined, and my reason, is if I won something I would sell it, to pay the bills. Im pregnant at the moment, and can't get a job, so am entering things to sell, Like dvd players Ipod etc. Now if I had a big win, I would have to save it, I wouldn't go out and buy a huge holiday to treat myself. It would pay the bills for the next year.

Personally I don't see the point of winning something that I wouldn't want or couldn't sell, it would just add to clutter.

Good luck to everyone though, and a big thank you for putting the competitiions up each day, it must be hard work.

Well done to the first person that owned up to selling some prizes which led to others also owning up! :)
With regards to tickets, I dont enter these ones, not unless I REALLLLY want to see whoevers playing.
Everything else, I mainly keep the prize or give it to a family member, if not, I sell it. I dont think theres anything wrong with it at all. After the time and effort spent entering all the comps its nice to get a couple of quid back from selling a DVD I didnt want :)

If by chance I won something I didnt want that was worth a bit I would sell it and buy something I wanted,(or holiday fund). I enter comps for near everything , and for the likes of buggies, etc, would give them away on here (theres always somebody preggers) kiddies dvds would go to grand kids,, but generally I would use everything, its great to win!. I dont enter for tickets that are not in my area, Although again I could and give them away on here:j

I would never sell anything I won and only enter things I really need / want /can give as presents/ or give to family or friends.

I have given away tickets on here when I couldn't make the show.

Everyone tends to show respect for everyone else on here, it also takes a great deal of time to find and post competitions.

So if you don't want, needs or can use a prize then PLEASE don't enter.

I sold the prize I recently won, I was trying for the main prize which was a nintendo ds and a game for my daughter, we got the game only which was no use without the console, a friend of mine insisted on paying me 20 quid for it, which meant that I was able to buy a new game for daughters leapster and with the change I bought my friend a bottle of wine.

I cant imagine I would want to sell any items if I won first prize, I never enter the tickets because I know I wouldnt be able to go, I dont enter things I dont really want such as dvds and cds.

Dont feel mean , everybodys entitled to their own opinion, and we all should live and do what we want(within reason) if people do sell its probably for a good reason:beer:

I think it is a little harsh to suggest that those who do sell are not showing respect to the people who post the comps.

I spent most of my time on here on the 'grabit' board (before discovering the competitions!) and there are prime examples of greed on there where someone posts a bargain and people go and buy 20 just to sell on and make a profit leaving no stock for people who genuinely want/need something, I think a competition is different in that is is purely the luck of the draw if you win or not.

I and I'm sure others do appreciate the time and effort that people go to when finding and posting the comps and if someone were to sell something on to make their life easier does not detract from that.
