Do you ever sell your prizes???

I don't think it is wrong to sell items if it is helping add additional income to a family that really needs it/helping people out of debt etc, or in fact whatever reason - who am I to judge?!. Last year I sold a Nintendo DS I won to pay off some debt (although I didn't want to as I really loved it!) I've also sold DVDs and games, all adds to debt clearing...so sue me! I work full time, this is my hobby in the evenings. We all have the same right to enter competitions and to do with the winnings what we like. Although I would say it's not worth entering comps for tickets etc with the hope of selling on as it is very likely to be risky and the prize may go unused which would be a waste.0

Iv'e got to be honest ans say i have sold a few prizes. Being honest again i will enter for anything. If i see the words prize, win or competition my radar kicks in. I love the buzz of winning anything.0

Ive got a DVD that I was thinking about selling on ebay
Now I feel really guilty! 0 -
I only enter too for things i want or know someone else would like ( if as others say it was a runner up prize and didn''t know anyone to give it to -would try and sell it ) -BUT i have only ever won 1 thing and thats not arrived yet and its an Emmerdale goody bag which i will keep as i have watched the show for many years and been there twice.
I live in hope i may win something else !!0 -
I generally only enter for things i need or could use, unless they are big prizes which if sold on could make a big difference to me. I am a mature student from a very poor background (well known for being the poorest girl at uni lol!). So if i won a big tv or similar, i'd sell it on and see it as winning that amount in money instead. I know not everyone will agree with doing that, but when you're struggling to even buy yourself food each week....who's to say it's wrong! I would love a big screen tv, but what use is watching it when i'm hungry! lol
I never enter for tickets or holidays unless i know i could use them, they are often non-transferable, and i'd rather someone else enjoy them than them go to waste.
Still....on the plus side, being as poor as poor can be does wonders for your waistline! I've lost 2 stone in the past 18 months!2008 wins: £1713.20

Don't feel guilty. At the end of the day you won it and it is entirely up to you what you want to do with it :beer:2022 wins include.... £1,000 cheque £150 ASDA gift card £250 Impericon gift voucher £100 cheque £100 of plant bulbs £100 Bower Collective voucher0 -
You shouldn't feel guilty Muffy0. You won the prize, you make a few quid by selling it, the buyer gets a DVD they wanted (probably cheaper than in the shops) everyone's happy. What's the problem?
I donate to charity, recycle everything I possibly can, give things I no longer need to charity shops, help people out if they ask/need it, don't drink, smoke or do drugs. I don't steal, I try not to be mean or nasty to people (though occasionally may slip up), and try to be an all round nice person. So I sell prizes - I never said I was a saint :A
Like Toni said, each to their own.

Dont ever feel guilty, u done what personally for u was the right thing, we all have different lives and beliefs and thats what makes us tick along as individuals, We al have our own reasons for comping, which makes for interesting characters on these boards xxxxxx#JusticeForGrenfell0

No, don't feel guilty for selling as it's your choice - I believe there's a Del Gel/boy in all of us somewhere. Why else are we on here if it's not to make a few quid or upgrade our living standards

I've got a few prizes knocking around that I'm not quite sure what to do about, if only I could be ar**d I'd sell them. I won a free flight but can't sell it or give it away (I tried) as the code is unique to me. I've got half  a Virgin voucher. A Spa voucher for 2 but everyone I've asked seems to think they need to loose weight first
Then there's the runner-up prizes that you really can't possibly give away as not even they want them  Never thought I'd do it but I may have to be Del gel

I keep stuff I like and can use, I give stuff to people like the kids at work or my next door neighbour, I sell stuff so I can buy my make up and bits and pieces from ebay and just to buy nice things that I really want, and I have a couple of items who I need to find just the right person to give it to, or the right place to donate it to.
Admittedly sometimes I daze on this board and enter really silly things and wonder where the heck they came from, but I never enter tickets or holidays or anything that involves being somewhere on a certain date or going anywhere

I especially like winning stuff that saves me money like toiletries, that kind of thing - dunno why, I just do and stuff that I'd like but wouldn't really buy, oh and shopping spree vouchers!
