Do you ever sell your prizes???

  • Well, I'm probably going to get shot down now but I'm being honest. I do enter comps and sell the prizes.

Selling prizes has paid for our family holiday this year, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to afford one.

I don't enter comps for holidays abroad unless they include spending money as we wouldn't be able to afford to go (we don't even have passports and would find it a struggle to buy them). I don't enter comps for tickets if I wouldn't use them. I don't enter comps aimed at specific people like students etc. If I did win a voucher or ticket I couldn't use I would offer it on here, as other people have done in the past.

If I win something I think someone I know would like, I give it to them. If I win something we can use I keep it.

Entering comps is fun, but it is also a means of raising some extra funds for things we otherwise couldn't have.

I think to call it greed is harsh. I'm not greedy, I'm just trying to make life better for myself and my family. No-one on here knows my circumstances and I feel it's unfair to judge solely on whether or not someone sells their prizes.

I tend to only enter for things I want or need, or things I know friends and family could use. That being said, I have won some runners up prizes that I couldn't find a good home for that wound up on Ebay.

I agree with most others - I only enter comps for things I would like or where I know someone (family or friend) could use. Rarely enter for concerts etc as they are usually specific short notice dates. A few years ago I received a 'Tattoo set' - no letter and no recollection of entering any competition - I guess it may have been a runner up prize and I did not notice it. I sold this on ebay for £50 plus postage to someone in Belgium.

Yes, this is what I do also.

Although you have to win first, and my last win was <sob> some considerable time ago <sniff>!

I don't understand how some people can just win and win, time after time, yet some of us go for months with nothing! I suspect it's where we live, being in the remote Highlands, delivery costs so much more here, and some couriers won't even deliver...

Thank you so much for being honest. I was starting to feel like the big bad wolf for doing this!

I also believe in Karma, but I do not call trying to keep a roof over your kids head greedy!!! As yet I have had nothing worth selling, but if I did and I didnt want it and nor did any members of my family, I would sell it to pay the bills.

Please dont judge me for this, I am sure that many people in bad financial situations would consider this. Dont get me wrong many wouldnt, but unfortunatly we live in a hard world where sometimes yuo have to do things like this to survive.

    Thanks

Well I wont shoot you down I'm with you on this one and I understand exactly were your coming from. On another note I would happily give things away I didnt want and i knew someone who did but for that I would have to start winning, only had one win myself since I started back in march:(

I would like to say Well Done :T to Katall, Nauhgtynat & Jen.Eng for admitting selling items, I think a lot of others do it but will not admit it.

I have not sold anything yet but that's not to say I won't  .

In this "Credit Crunch" people cannot be blamed for trying to improve their financial arrangement and if this means selling prizes so be it (It is survival of the fittest).

There has been some programs dedicated to people entering competitions to stay a float of their finances and in my opinion if selling prizes helps someone keep a roof over their head then im not complaining.
Thank You to all that post competitions. :T

I've sold a few DVDs, books and a CD that I've won on amazon and play.com before. I did offer them to family / friends first though.

I've never sold tickets or anything like that as I only enter comps for tickets that are for concerts/events in the local area and that I / friends/ family would actually use.
