Do you ever sell your prizes???

Hi everyone.

I was wondering if people ever sell their prizes? I have been entering comps for tickets and was unsure where I stood if I sold the ticket. How would it be worded the the t&c's so that it would say if they could be sold?

I wouldnt want to take the risk and just sell incase someone could not get into the gig.

Any advice would be great.

Most of us don't deliberately enter comps for prizes we know we don't want. We might occasionally sell things if we've entered for the main prize, & got a runner up prize that we couldn't use, but I'd say generally we keep the stuff we win.

Mostly if people win tickets they don't want or can't use (usually because it was too short notice), they offer them for free either on this board or to rl friends. I would say it's a bit of a waste entering if you know you don't want to go, as often you get tickets with little notice, and wouldn't have time to sell them - it means you've stopped someone winning who may have really wanted to go. Obviously others may disagree, but that's my opinion :)

I'm the same, I only enter the comps I'd use. I've won 3 different concert tickets since January and with each one I've had to pick the tickets up on the night with proof of ID.

I've noticed with tickets they usually have to be collected from the venue on the night and some also ask for ID so you may have trouble selling them...

I won tickets that I was unable to use but was able to offer them to a family member but I now only enter things I can go to or things I want... I have given away or sold runner up prizes that I don't particularly want, or cannot give as presents.... but alot of my family have been receiving birthday presents that I have won in compeitions.... it has worked out well for me this year....

I thought that you would need ID, thats why I havent really entered that many. As you say, a lot are really short notice too.

I see the point with only entering if its something that you really want, but I am trying sooooo hard to get out of debt that I will try anything!

I only usually enter comps that if I would want to win, with tickets, if I dont want them one of my friends or family always use them and once donated the prize to my daughters school for a raffle prize, they auctioned it off and . I agree with Cheeky Chicken you may have stopped someone from winning the prize who really wanted to go.

Got to say I wont enter for stuff the family cant use - I dont see it as a money making thing - to me it a bonus if I win - and if I can use something it goes to close friends or people on here.

I dont want to stop someone who would have enjoyed it winning it.

To be honest, i can think of much better ways of making money. With the hours I put in to this it's not very cost effective but, i'm lucky, OH has a good job and we're secure for now so i can spend the time doing this.

I don't enter for things i cant use or give away to friends and family. The main reason I do this is for the pleasure I get when hearing about a win, getting it and most times, seeing someone I care about happy because i've been able to win them something nice.
