No problem!
The only thing I'm not looking forward to is a possible phone call tonight or tomorrow morning to see if they need me to come in and help with the shoppping. The big problem is that the start shopping the next days orders at about 3pm until about 10pm (later on some departments, especially bigger ones). They start shopping things like coke bottles, shampoo etc (long life) and frozen the night before. All the fresh stuff is shopped in the morning (at our store at 6:30am).
So if the system doesn't come back up soon, they will have big problems tomorrow morning. Try shopping 40 customers of shopping for 4 vans between 6:30am and 9am. Not easy!!! Not forgetting all vans come back around lunch time and usually do another 5 to 10 more customers and a final 5 to 10 customers later on. Most vans do between 25 to 30 customers a day. Our store got 4 vans. But I know some stores got 9...... imagine that....!0 -

"Sainsbury's has suspended its online grocery service, meaning thousands of customers will not receive their orders on Wednesday and Thursday."
Reported on the BBC News. Ouch..... everyone who planning shopping Thursday better get ready to go into the shop instead!

Yep, Sainsbury's deliveries for tomorrow Thursday are definitely off the menu as we have had the phone call cancelling our Thursday afternoon delivery.0

"About 24,000 people die every day from hunger or hunger-related causes." - https://www.thehungersite.com
None of them Sainbury's customers I suspect.0 -
Lovely day off for me:T
Although seems to me that instead of posting moaning comments on here people could be out resolving the issue instead of bellyaching about it and getting nowhere.
These moaners must be perfect people who never have problems or make mistakes, Sainsburys suffered problems, was it anyones fault? No, so as the saying goes....thats life, deal with it. If you aint happy, then shop online with tesco or Asda and i bet you come back to JS!:p0 -
we had a phone call tonight to say our shopping will not be delivered tomorrow, yes its a bit inconvienient and irritating, but these things happen, I will either so to the shops tomorrow or do an online shop with Tesco. I was happy with the £10 offer, it is not the local shops fault and there is no point being angry with them, seriously there are worse things that can and do happen.0

So why did they wait until 10 minutes before the expected hour slot was up on Wednesday to contact people? My message was left on a 1571 answerphone at 12.50pm Weds, because I was using the phone, and I never got it until 2 hours after. I would not have got it at all, had I not telephoned THEM to ask where the shopping was.
Heres a tip....check your 1571! Not sainsburys fault you were gabbing on the phone the whole afternoon! Oh and a quick insight for you, your not the only customer to be affected, bet there are hundred of others in a wore off situation saying, "hey yeh JS suffered a set back and I didnt get any shopping today, hey ho never mind, nobody's fault eh?" instead of moaning over an over about not getting party food and then sending the birthday girl out for it! Top husband you are!
As for the £10 voucher they could have easily said 'we had technical difficulties sorry for inconvenience' and leave it at the but no, not only are they missing out on thousand of pounds on order but they are actually giving money away to help customers, so stop being so greedy. Wow! what a compensation nation we have become!:rolleyes:0 -

Well said! What a brilliant approach and understanding to a difficult situation!
Ask JS customers who have shopped with any other company before who they prefer, lets just say it isn't Asda or Tesco!0 -

As a Sainsburys Online Driver - I second that!! I got at least 10 new customers a week, at least half of them have the same conversion see below!
Me : Hello Mr/Mrs/Miss etc...... How are you? I understand that you are a new customer.
Customer : Yes, yes...!
Me : You done online shopping before?
Customer : Yes with another supermarket.....
Me : Tescos by any chance....?
Customer : How did you know?
Me : Oh dear oh dear oh dear.......
LOL :rotfl:0
