Pretty high week for us with the leccy. It was a surprise though everyone is home, and telly (Plasma) is constantly being left on.

Well I'm still an E but my energy use was down considerably this week, unsurprisingly since we were away for 3 days...but we have had the heating on a lot more the other days since it has been very cold. This leaves me 28/47 which is a nice change from being paddy last. Gas use down by 120kwh to 559kwh and elec use 62kwh, which is around average but to be expected since I did a lot of baking before i left....and we've been watching a lot more tv than usual. I'm expecting reads to go up considerably next week, we are in the middle of another cold snap and we are both getting over colds. And both off work
so worth it!
Hope you all had good Christmases!0 -
While it's the festive season I've decided to 'ingore' those readings and really grapple back down to things come 5th Jan when it's back to normality.........just hoping that one of the big 6 will make a bold move & cut some prices......now that'd be nice for 2009.:jMFWin3T2 No 20 - aim £94.9K to £65K:j

Hello meter-minders
Hope you all had a great Christmas and will not scrimp too much on the new year warm cheer
Meter readings for me this week on i-measure report that I'm 21/47 in the carbon club - where has everyone else gone? I still don't have my carbon rating, that should start next week for the new address.
Anyway, it has been extremely cold here, so the storage heaters have been boosting at weird times throughout the day (it's all controlled remotely by Scottish Power and their weather forecasting system). There was also a heap of extra cooking going on for Christmas, same goes for this coming week for new year, so i-measure reckons:
Last week you spent:- £0.00 on gas
- £44.88 on electricity

I'm not paying much attention to the ratings and rankings on imeasure, as I'm sure that as the site is a beta, and it's a PhD project, there will be lots of errors for a bit. However, I'm also updating my account with my supplier and am VERY pleased by the fact that I'm over £90 in credit on electricity and over £120 on gas ... at this stage of the year, I'd expect this to be going down as I'm only paying £19/month.

I think my kids would officially count me as "sad" if they'd seen me this morning..... I've been clock-watching for 2 hours, until it got closer to the time I normally read my meters :rolleyes2
Our electricity use is lower this week (80kWh against 87kWh last week), which I think shows how much elder DS is using (he headed off to spend a couple of weeks with friends on Saturday, so no laptop or XBox running 24/7 since early that morning).
But our gas is up from 207kWh to 265kWh  However this is still less than the previous week at 276kWh (and the one before that at 288kWh), so I'm not going to panic tooooo much unless there's another substantial increase next week
Like last week, the increase in one seems to have been offset by the decrease in the other as we've managed to maintain our 'C' rating
Last week you spent:- £8.93 on gas (s/sheet figure = £9.27)
- £9.60 on electricity (s/sheet figure = £8.76)
- £79.49 on gas (s/sheet figure = £87.31)

We're now showing as 32/48 in the Carbon Club. Last week was 34/52, and the week before was 43/56 -- so it's got me wondering if people have given up on entering figuresSeems a shame if they have

Well we are still a C rating, currently 22/48 and our usage is very similar to last week. Although we went down south for Christmas, we left lights on timers and heating on low for our cat (looked after by neighbours, but stayed in her own home) and it has been very cold here so heating had to work harder, so although noe cooking done for 5 days it hasn't affected our gas usage much.
Here's our breakdown ;
Last week you spent:- £14.28 on gas
- £7.68 on electricity
- £149.24 on gas
- £162.36 on electricity
