Got a bill of £119 for 90 days. This is a pound more than the same time last year. For the last 90 days I used 244 kWh of electrcicity and 2323 kWh of gas.
Just before I put the heating on in November my annual use was 1,500 kWh I think. It has now jumped to 3,096 kWh. Electricity is 936 kWh a year. Annual price jumped from a low of around £220 a year in autum to less than £250 a year now.
Carbon is now 1,136 kg a year. It was below a 1,000 kg for eight weeks in autumn.
I'm intrigued by your low electric use fiend for life, that's less than 3kw per day. I was trying to play with figures to work out how much of my total goes on heating/water and how much would be equivalent of a 'gas house's' daily electric.
I was thinking along the lines of 7 or 8 units for normal daily use, are you exeptionally low or are my calcs way off?0 -

We are a family of four, with I would say fairly low electricity usage. We normally average 6 to 7 units per day at the moment. Maybe this will go down a little with the longer days but I can't see it ever going below 5. Having said that, I wonder what the lawnmower eats up. Also, bear in mind we are at home all day so your consumption may be lower if you are working.MFiT - T2 # 64start date: 1.7.09 MFW end date: 31.10.17

We're a family of 5, involving 3 teenage girls. (hairdryers, straightners etc) so imagine not going to be 'low'. I'll stick with my 7,8 guess for now and see what I think when the heating is off.0

Another week gone by already? Another nice drop in consumption, down 43kw on last week.
Would have been more if hadn't gone away for weekend leaving the kids in charge. They decided it was such a lovely day on Saturday they would air the house and open all the windows. Then went out and didn't come back till after 10pm! And they didn't even shut them all when they got in. Not the best of plans when the heating is thermostatically controlled. (not to mention the police have been round saying be extra vigilant due to criminal activity in the area!) I reckon an extra 20kw went wafting out the windows
Was toying with turning off some of the heating this week till I saw the weather forecast this morning!:eek:0 -
I'm starting to wonder if we have a big. electricity guzzling monster that lives in our meter cupboard and who turns himself invisible when we open the cupboard door. Really. I am.
I have no other idea where our electricity is going - I cannot get it down any lower no matter how hard I try.
Heating and water are gas, cooking is electric but I rarely use the oven and tend to use only one or two rings as I use a steamer to cook with most nights. No TVs, PC (laptop) on for a couple of hours a day, all lights low energy bulbs, no lights outside, lights off when leaving a room.............. I don't know, I'm obviously missing something really obvious, but I've looked round the house several times and can't get the electricity reading any lower. Maybe we really do have a monster in the cupboard?

I would have been seriously unamused if my kids had done that! How frustrating!0 -
A good drop for us this week - 95 Kw in total, most of which came from using 6 units of gas last week rather than our usual 9. The heating has now gone off in the mornings, although I'm not sure how long that will last what with the (temporarily) darker mornings due to the clocks going forward and the forecasted weather!
On imeasure we're a D against all users & a C against similar properties. I've worked out over March we've spent under £60, which is great considering our direct debit is currently £96.
I've taken to lighting pillar candles in the living room to top up the warmth in the evening & found car boots are a really good place to buy them - I picked up 4 on Saturday for just over £2!Mortgage: [STRIKE]08/13 £28,896.49[/STRIKE] 01/18 £00 -
A small drop last week down to 21 kWh on electricity. An increase on the gas from around 45 up to 65 kWh.
Imeasure is now giving a B for both badges.0 -
A rise for me 132 units of electricity for the week, but the bulk of the building work going on at ours is now done and they should be out of my hair by Thursday :j so hopefully the electric should drop...just in time for the kids to break up for the easter holidays :cool:0

Meter readings just processed.
Two 'C's for last weeks readings (63kg CO2 for a 2 people household - 31.5kg each)
This week shows a drop in electricity of 8kWh (to 52kWh) and a drop in gas of 34kWh (to 126kWh). Household CO2 down to 52kg (26kg each). Both readings are lower than for this week last year :TCheryl0
