Meter readings for this week dealt with....

Electricity up 6kWh on last week. Gas down 11kWh.

Confused about the increase in electricity, as I can't think of anything I've done extra - in fact, I would have expected it to drop as I've not used my dryer at all and I was at work this last week, but on annual leave (and at home) the week before. The only other thing I know I've done different is listen to CDs on my (old) hi-fi several evenings, instead of having the TV and f/view box on !?!?!? Guess I'm going to have to bring my electricity monitor plugs into play on those appliances, just to see how they compare unknown.gif

Anyone else seen a sudden reduction in consumption this week so far? I'm not sure if mine is something to do with the new meter fitted on Friday or a sign that spring is on the way for real!:)

As a clue to kind of drop I'm talking about last Wednesdays consumption 56kwh, yesterdays 38kwh!!!:j Think I'm starting to really see benefits of thermostatic heaters instead of storage heaters.:)

It's nice to see the temperatures rising isn't it? Our gas consumption is definitely down this week, averaging 114 kwh per day so far this week, compared to 138 kwh last week, a drop of 20%:j:jDon't know the daily comparison I'm afraid:o

Good job too as my Scottish Power bill is a debit balance of £180 at the moment:eek:

  • Quite a drop. Gas went from 181 to 124 kWh; electricity from 26 to 21 kWh.

Should have a bill soon too as it has gone over the quarter.

:o I've allowed to let the OCD take over for 1 week only followng the meter change. Then I'll be back to trying very hard to keep it once a week.;)

Glad we're all seeing a difference, would have been gutted if my old meter had been dodgy.

Good morning, very happy to report a drop of 21% this week.

Even better is the drop in the bill of 27%, lovely new meter :j

Still on 2 'C' badges for last weeks use.

And totally unrelated, just spotted the Blackbird building a nest in my tree, what a lovely start to the first week of Spring.

I have somehow managed to lose the wee diary I kept my daily reads in so seems like that might be my cure enforced upon me.:(

Morning all energy savers. We are also delighted to say that gas consumption is 650kwh this week down from 928kwh (a drop of 30% or £7.50!!). Good job too as we need to ensure that debit balance says in check.

Lets hope we are all seeing the change at last after the harsh spell.

Ive got a confession ...we are up 5 units (electricty no gas) compared to last week, i had a couple of lazy wench days when it was raining so the washing headed straight into the tumble dryer, but decided to look at it this way this week spend is £14.90 so that £2.98 per person :rotfl:
