Nualabualagood_luck.gif Look forward to hearing how you get on.

Thank you! Am hoping to keep the heating off till November. In the meantime, I'm wearing lots of layers! I'm on the lookout all over the house for little red lights, i.e. things on standby that I can turn off.
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

    Just read meters.

Electricity down another 1kWh to 62kWh
Gas up by 12kWh, which takes it back to where it was 2 weeks ago (exactly). Still not sure why it was sooooo much lower last week

Reason I popped into this thread (Hi), it that my iMeasure has suddenly given me a 'C' (All Users) and an 'A' (Comparison Group)!! Wow! I don't deserve it, I haven't even done anything to try.

Unusual to have an A and C. A and B or Band C perhaps. I suspect most of the people in your house type have probably switched the heating on. Detatched house maybe or good insulation as setmefree2 says.

    Nice result anyway.:T

That's probably it, I'm still using negligible heating. Shows what a dent firing up a boiler can make to consumption in a 4 person house.
Didn't want the 'A' though - should have to try really hard for that.

Well done on A even temporarily, our household type has no hope of ever achieving anywhere near that for the simple reason that it's impossible :D

I know that iMeasure encourages competitive energy saving, but how can you sit at home with temps of
    16 (CW18)
    15 (nykmedia)
    12 (nykmedia again)
    12/13 (a friend for life)

I would be absolutely and utterly miserable living at these temperatures, I dunno how you do it.

Re the 12 to 15 degrees thing - we don't have central heating so when it gets below zero outside, 15 degrees from old style storage heaters & an open fire is sheer luxury, but it costs an arm and a leg to achieve. My £1500 a year budget is what it costs just to reach the above temps, for any more than that I would probably need to double my budget. Each heater costs over £1 per day to leave on a high setting and that's using E7 cheap rate electricity. One neighbour here is already putting £50+ PER WEEK into her meter because she likes her house warm, add to that the coal and logs...

    Hi all,

I've not been on this thread for a while but have been diligently inputting my meter readings into imeasure and have generally come out with a B comparison with both everyone and my comparison group.

I now have a problem as my gas meter was replaced last week and so although I have a whole year's worth of readings (we're using much less gas than we were last year, hooray!) I'm now going to have to start all over again :o. I can't even get my head round how much we're using any more as we've changed from cubic feet to cubic metres!!! Has anyone else had a similar problem?

It's been pretty cold here so we've had the heating on for an hour at a time on a couple of evenings, then I finally gave in and put in on timed yesterday (for 1 hr and 45 mins per day) as I now have a cold, only for the weather to warm up again today!! So it's gone off again and we'll try and keep it off until November if we can. The loft insulation is really helping.

    Great results! :T:T:T

I thought they changed this so that you could enter a new meter?

Worth contacting them first if you've not already done so.

Edit: Just in case - you can also download the data as a csv file too if you don't have it in an existing spreadsheet.

    Good morning,

CaroB, I had this problem when I moved house, the system wouldn't allow me to add the new meter to show continuous results, so I had to start again by registering a completely new account! It was most annoying. I had to change my username and password on original account so that it would allow me to reregister my current details, otherwise it kept showing 'username already in use'. And then I'd to remove first name from moneysavers carbon club and rejoin with new account. Then wait for whatever number of weeks before it showed my badges again. But I got there in the end.

This week's badges are showing as D and E, which musy mean others are using extra, to. Last week was first full week of having a heater on in our house, set on low in a northerly facing bedroom. Results as follows:

Your household's total energy spend over the last 45 weeks is £779.82.
For week ending 18th October, 2009 your household spent £14.16 in total.
    Electricity A Rate: £10.18
    Electricity B Rate: £2.28
    Electricity C Rate: £1.71
    Plus standing charge of £1.61

This brings my overall weekly average to £18.94 so I might just manage to come in under budget on the electricity this year. Unfortunately, the surplus will probably be needed to cover the shortfall in the grocery budget.

Good luck everyone. Winter has already reared its head here with the first frosts and icy patches but the fleece blinds, door curtains, bubblewrap and draught excluders are all helping to save as much of the indoor heat as possible.

I've put my washing out on the line this morning. It's so cold out I was wondering why I was bothering 1677.gif

    Good Luck everyone

Only way I could put washing on the line today would be to wash it! But now that I've thought of that idea.... :rotfl:
