Forgot to update last week.....
It was the last week based on 3 people, and I showed as a 'C' for both badges last Monday :T
When I read my meters last week my electricity was down from 66kWh to 62kWh, and my gas was static at 45kWh for the 3rd week in a row.
As I'm now back to 2 people I'm also back to an 'E' for both badges
Not holding out a lot of hope for tomorrow's readings/next Monday's badges, as I've mown the lawns yesterday (front) and today (back), and am catching up on washing now I've managed to prise some from DS !!!!Cheryl0 -

But what will we do next AprilThink we are in for a shock:eek:
I am in the same position as you, hence why I have just spent the last hour flicking through this thread for inspiration/ideas, have joined up to imeasure and noted down the last years bills from BG towork out daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly usage later tonight. Think i will be quite shocked at the current weeks usage compared to figures posted here but feel that we are needing a sharp shock to try hard over the next 6 months to get usage down before we change tariffs.
Once i have worked out my current usage may (if its not too bad) be back later to post as a starting point for me.0 -
Just sorted my readings from this week (I read on Tuesdays, but have been getting a bit slack about inputting the figures into my spreadsheet and i-measure!)
Gas is exactly the same for the 4th week in a row at 45kWh, but the electricity has gone up to 67kWh (from 62). But whilst some of this will be from mowing the lawns, I know I can put at least a fair chunk of this down to using my tumble drier a couple of times..... really must get my monitor socket onto that for a couple of loads to figure out just how much it really does use !!!
Actually, looking back at the figures from 3 weeks ago when I last did the lawns, it would appear that my mower is also using a fair bit - as useage spiked last time I did them too  So if I get another mowing session in this year I'm going to try and remember to stick my monitor on that too........Cheryl0 -
I'm still managing without the storage heaters but it's certainly getting much chillier and the frosty mornings don't look too far away. We've resorted to electric blankets for half an hour before bedtime and I have had to light the fire a few times to help dry clothes hanging indoors. Thankfully, we've had a great week without any rain, so loads of washing done and line dried without a problem. I reckon jam & jelly making plus extra cooking & baking will be accounting for extra units recently but the cooker contributes to the heating of the kitchen, so it makes it a little bit warmer for everyone and saves me lighting the fire.
We'll see what Monday has to bring and then I'm going to start regular breadmaking on the timer so it's baked on cheap rate electricity.

Those people who are on a tariff where they have cheap night rate electricity should make sure they know what times the cheap electricity comes on and off.
For example, where I live, it switches back to daytime at 8am - so I need to make sure I have a shower (electric shower) before then, and also get the laptop and phone on charge (if they need it) as soon as I wake up, to come off by 8 at the latest.
It came as a surprise to me to find out that 'night time' actually goes quite a way into the morning.0 -
Good morning, start of another week and figures entered for last week are slightly down but I don't know why.
Your household's total energy spend over the last 41 weeks is £727.71.
For week ending 20th September, 2009 your household spent £11.12 in total.
Electricity A Rate: £9.02
Electricity B Rate: £2.10
Electricity C Rate: £0.00
Plus my standing charge of £1.61
I'm fairly happy with that as I have the hot water on every night and have the cooker etc on every single day. It's getting chillier and the rain's back, so I have had to light the fire once and will probably light it again today to help get the place heated to dry the washing.
Weekly average now down to £19.36 over the entire year, still improving for as long as it takes to switch the storage heaters back on again. Hopefully, we can do without until next month.I reserve the right not to spend.

Heating is still off.:j:j:j but starting to get condensation on the windows in the morning.
Low readings this week because I've hardly been in just 14kWh of electric. Got a B and an A for last weeks readings.
Just got my bill too for £26 for 12 weeks that gives me around £54 total for 22 or 23 weeks. Rolling annual consumption is 1268 for electricity and 2553 for gas. A and A+ respectively based on household consumption. A decrease of about 4% and 9% since my June annual consumption.0 -

Hi all
Just to confirm, electric night switching times vary depending on the area of the country you are in.
It is easy to check. You can either call the electricity distributor for your area or your actual supplier. Both will be able to give you the times whilst you are on the phone.
The relevant numbers will be on the bills.

When I was on Economy 7 for storage heaters (1987-1991), my hours actually changed with the clocks!!! Ran midnight-7am for part of the year, and 1am-8am for the rest.
Showing as two 'E's from last weeks readings - and things are about to slide for me I think, as my radiators actually started to warm up this morning (first time I've noticed it, and I knew something was different as soon as I woke up). Main thermostat currently set to 16 degrees (normally at 18 over the winter), and I daren't set it any lower due to having an old dog (15) in the house - plus young GDs either end of school
Meters read for the week - electricity down 1kWh on last week (now 66kWh), but has has scraped in at 45kWh for the 5th week in a row. It's also time to submit my reading to SP for my 4-weekly billing cycle.
It's also now 52 weeks since I started using i-measure. In that time I've logged 3,535kWh for my electricity and 7,549kWh for my gas, which - according to imeasure - equates to 3,316 kg CO2.Cheryl0
