I've decreased my consumption over the last four weeks but my carbon rating has gone up. That leaves me a little confused.

The carbon rating is a comparison with others on imeasure - so as everyone else's consumption reduces, it's harder to get an A.

I'm not too concerned about the carbon thing anyway, just saving money - but then I would say that, having dropped from an A to a B :D

Just heard back from i-measure with regards to the email I sent them earlier....
At the top of the results page it tells me the total CO2 output for the household is 56kg. As we're a 2 person household, I calculate this to 28kg per person

But the Carbon Rating badges (both for all users, and for my selected comparison group) say the household total is 71kg, with 35kg per person - these were actually our figures for LAST week !!!!

That's right. The legend next to the carbon badge says so.
I've then spotted that the figures at the top say they're for week ending 5th April, but the figures against the badges say they're for week ending 29th March.....

I would have expected the badges to update automatically when I add the readings for a week?

Let us suppose you entered your readings very early on Monday. There would be very few users who had entered their readings with whom you could compare. Therefore we could not calculate a carbon rating. The carbon badge is always a week behind to allow people time to enter their readings.
Can I also ask which weeks data my rating in the Carbon Club I'm a member of is based please?
This is for the same week as the carbon badge.

I don't know if it's just me, but I'd always assumed everything was based on the readings I'd just entered - which means my ratings have always referred to the previous weeks reading and NOT the ones I was using from the same week to try and see a 'trend' with regards to moving up and down the table

I've always noticed that my position in the carbon club changed throughout the day each Monday when I enter my readings - and others input theirs.

The only reason I can think of for this phenomenon is that imeasure was taking account of readings as they were entered; carbon club positioning appeared not to be delayed by a week.

Maybe retro presentation of data is one of the new improvements, but it is frustrating not to have current consumption figures reflected in the carbon emission badge, but present in all the other graphics.

My usage from last week to this week has declined but my carbon has gone up. Might drop a fair bit next week hopefully.

I suspect they've just changed the weekending thing to stop the ranking bouncing up and down through the week.

Anyway savings are good though.:D and since vat and standing charge are included in the tariff the weekly spend is spot on.

Maybe a badge for week ending last week and a current week ending would be the way to go.

Are you able to enter a standing charge? I looked earlier today, and couldn't see a way to do it, so didn't bother to amend my tariff.

I like that idea - you'd get some 'reward' for improvement immediately.

No, I'm with ebico and they include VAT and standing charge in with the tariff.

I think vat could be added to the tariff though which would be fine if people didn't have a standing charge. (Maybe the standing charge is in the pipeline :wall: though.)

The tariff is above the bar chart I think.

    Hi guys

well I'm not sure when I last posted - been so busy lately. Currently 54/56 in the carbon club :( and an F. More worryingly I've just worked out how to read my total carbon emissions on imeasure and we are currently on 4581kg since 17 August last year. Given that recent suggestions are that we all need to reduce our use to 1 metric tonne, and we are already more than double that per person this isn't good news :(

In terms of our electric consumption though we are 20% down for this quarter from where we were last year (got the bill during the week). Still cost about the same given recent price rises though.

Great to be able to put costs into imeasure at last.

We are at 42/56 in the Carbon Club and I am hoping that by getting by into the swing of updating I-Measure, I will keep tabs on the gas and electric.
