  • Hi GC81 :hello:

I'm still new around here - now at the end of my third week. Thanks to the lovely folk on here both my elec and gas are going south :T:T:T

    Last week you spent:
    • £7.67 on gas - 219kWh
    • £6.48 on electricity - 54kWh
Total you have spent on energy since starting imeasure (3 weeks ago):
    • £26.34 on gas
    • £21.84 on electricity
Average daily use last week was 31kWh gas and 7.7kWh leccie. Really pleased as they are creeping towards my targets of 29kWh per day for gas and 7kWh per day for electric :j. This would mean I don't have to increase my dd for gas and may be able to reduce my elec dd.

That's the good news - today I had a real MSE OS day - used the oven loads and loads - the damage 13kWh . Ahh well - everyone enjoyed the home cooking:D

    Take care all xx

The meter man came and read the meter yesterday and it was with great trepidation that I plonked the numbers in my spreadsheet this morning_pale_

BUT compared to previous March quarters we used 17% less electricity and (amazingly) 10% less gas :T

I know it's not as good as some of you but I'm very chuffed smiley-dance011.gif'cos it's been a cold winter.:D

    I have updated page 1

readings for the week just entered.

A bit bemused by electricity - maybe I'm around the 'as good as it gets' point

I'm bang on the same as last week, which was higher than the previous 6 weeks.

Whilst this is good as I expected to be up due to elder DS coming home on leave last Friday, he's actually spending most of his time (including nights) at a friends house meaning very little extra from him. But I'm two wash and dry loads down on last week, so would have hoped to see a small drop :(

Gas is back down, having seen an increase last week - definitely as a result of a couple of very nice days (no day time heating), and also not accidentally leaving it for a whole night!! It's 18 weeks (10th Nov) since my figure has been lower than the latest, so I'm hoping this is the start of the low useage seasons :)

Still on a 'C' rating - and showing as 44/49 in the club

    Welcome aboard :)

Nyk will be especially pleased to see you, as she's been the only 'electricity only' house up until now as far as we could tell ;)

I do have Oil heating, but I have no way of really telling how much I use of that. (stupid plug sensor doesnt work and there's no dip-stick/metre on tank)
So I dont suppose my readings will be that great of a comparison.
All in all just thinking about the useage and working out how much is wasted is educating though.

Wow 17% and 10% is excellent for a money saving veteran and a cold winter.:T:T:T I think I'll need double glazing and cavity wall insulation to make further cuts.

    welcome to the board.

    Warning noted!:)
  • I'm baffled how I'm getting a 'B' but only 35 out 40 something. Anyone else getting strange ranks for the carbon club? I've tried changing household and fuel types but it still comes out the same.

ETA: imeasure must be watching i've jumped to 21/48 :D

Imeasure's weird, and often seems to give odd results - I've dropped from 2/48 to 29/49, although I've kept my A rating. Wonder how that works :D

    Not bad reductions from me;).

I've had a surge of enthusiasm now I've had my meter read. I'm going to try extra hard to get my June quarter down. I think it's the good weather tbh, it's hard battling against the cold weather, it's hard to keep warm and get things dry but I'm going to try extra for the June qtr.:D
