Ooh I just noticed something exciting though which I will share with you all. I started taking gas readings about this time last year so I was able to go back and do a check on what I used in the last six months compared to the same period for last year. I'm currently 4,500KWH down!! So I guess all the efforts are worthwhile in the end up even if they don't seem like much week on week. That's almost £200 saved at current prices!

Well done belfastgirl, I wish I could say the same. For the first time in 5 years my gas is up so far this winter. I am sure it is due to the extra cold weather we have had.
  • Excellent savings balfastgirl - well done :T:T:T.

Decola you're an inspiration. I.m not sure I could be that dedicated and my OH would never be. I've worked hard to get him to adapt as much as he has ;).

Well, I'm a little confused but very happy. Gas was up 1kwh and electric 5 (thnk I was right about H's pc, he's not turned it off as much the past week as he did the week before) and yet we're showing as an A. Very chuffed I have to say but I wonder if we'll slip back to a B as more people update

    Last week you spent:
    • £10.99 on gas
    • £7.80 on electricity
Total you have spent on energy since starting imeasure (7 weeks ago):
    • £89.98 on gas
    • £65.16 on electricity
    emissions Kg CO2 Last week

    Per person 20 (48)

    Per household 99 (121)

    Gas use as kWh
    Last week

    Per Person 63 (164)

    Per Household 314 (400)

    Electricity use as kWh
    Per Person 13 (28)

    Hi Nyk,

Good to see your still on a D well done.

Being a rented property are you able to get insulation installed?

It's a private rental, we already have some loft insulation & double glazing and we're not entitled to anything free as none of us qualifies. Living in short tenancy private rentals makes it very difficult to ask a landlord about anything. Past experience (9 addresses in last 8 years) shows me that most private landlords just want their rental income and all stipulate that the houses MUST be heated and aired to avoid damage by condensation or dampness.

ROLL ON THE BETTER WEATHER :)
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Decola - you are amazing :T:T:T

    Last week you spent:

    • £7.56 on electricity
Total you have spent on energy since starting imeasure (2 weeks ago):

    • £15.36 on electricity
To my amazement, we are ranked as 9/49

Just entered my readings for the week - and both are back up, but this was expected. Pleased we're still a 'C' (thought we might just have dropped), but very surprised to see we're showing as 4/50 in the club - so I can only assume they've never fixed this

It's been cold here this week (and numpty here kicked the heating back on one evening - and forgot to turn it off when going to bed  ), plus I've done a lot of extra washing this week compared to last (extra 3 washes and 2 drier loads!).

Don't see things improving again until late next month -- elder DS (the electricity guzzling gadget guy) is home on leave again from the end of this week..... and for FIVE weeks this time!! Heaven help my readings while he's here, but it should help the rest of you pull up your ratings :rotfl:

4 weeks since I last generated my on-line bills, so have just been to do that. Looks like it's going to come in around £10 less than the last one -- so I'm happy with that. Also makes it just £5 (or thereabouts) more than my monthly payment -- so still heaps in credit, and now heading in the right direction to stop using that until the end of the year :T (My aim is to not see an increase in my Direct Debit during 2009)

I syampathize. I did this a few months ago and was kicking myself right up to submitting the results. I was probably still kicking myself afterwards thinking about it.

The boiler in my previous flat was good as it had a 1hr boost on it.

Your graph is coming down nicelly though well done.:T:T:T
