Ooops sorry I went off on one there and forgot to answer the question. I never eat much salad at the best of times although I have my phases, so I certainly don't eat the limp stuff they serve up abroad.

Don't make the mistake of thinking if you eat in a 5* that you'll be less likely to get food poisoning either ;)

Did you enjoy your holiday then Mrs E? We loved Egypt. I discovered that I had a real knack for bartering, I must've been good as they asked us to leave 2 shops  They told my husband that I was either a hard woman or a good business woman. I think I insulted them by offering them too low a price. But they were the ones who made me go in there in the first place when I didn't want to buy anything, I just needed a drink and a rest.

I was sold Streptoquin (I have the old packet) & something else (tablets too) by the pharmasist for £12 (thats £12 Stirling), for my bad guts. I know £12 was a rip off but in the Reef Oasis Blue bay there is one chemist & you would have to get a cab into Sharm to get a better deal.

Didn't work, so he told me to stop taking the Streptoquin (only had one left anyway!) & gave me sachets that I had to mix with water, they produced a muddy clayish tasting drink.

I've read posts saying those tablets should cost 50p...

You can't insult an Egyptian by offering too low a price, only by refusing hospitality, and actually, by refusing to barter in the first place (although they're used to tourists not getting that...). Just don't do what I did, get back to the UK, go to Asda to shop and start to haggle at the till. Apparently it's frowned upon... Who knew?;)
:grin:If at first you don't succeed, then sky-diving isn't for you
