:hello: Hi I'm Jay, I'm new to old style/ this thread--life's calming down at last so going to try to get my house/moneysaving/family together.

Is there an etiquette, or is it full, or can I just jump right in?
    Anytime;)

    Good morning all:D

My, it's quiet on here today.

PenPen, glad you weren't hurt more, but ego bruises are the most painful things ;) Now if I hear reports of you looking pregnant, I'll know you stuffed a piglet or two up your jumper:rotfl:Hope you enjoy the show.

Snowy, just did a quick backtrack to yesterday's thread. Great to have you back:j :j :j You're very brave to jack in the job, but I'm sure you'll get something more appropriate to your talents soon;) Anyway, your health and happiness come first:D

Aussie, special thoughts for Dsis. Hope she does get out of intensive care today. It's a good psychological boost to get onto a normal ward. Bet you can't wait to see her.

Well it's started raining here, only been forecast for the last five days:rotfl: I don't mind though as I got my washing all up to date yesterday. Damn, just realised, I cleaned the windows yesterday icon9.gif  See, I can do it every time. Mostly it doesn't even bother waiting until the next day to rain:rolleyes: Glad I didn't wash the car:D

As I won't be able to garden, think I'll do some baking. Got empty cake and biscuit tins at the moment, and I could do some to take to DGSs tomorrow. DDIL is going on a school outing with DGS1, while we babysit DGS2. Should be fun.

Dinner tonight was supposed to be salmon, new potatoes and salad, but I don't fancy that now, so I'll have a root through the freezer for something more fanciable.

For those concerned about catowen, I think she's just too busy on the competitions threads:rotfl: She's obviously determined to get that tractor:T

Welcome to our newbies, especially Jay whose just got her feet wet;)

(hugs) to the poorlies, sad and worried.

Hi :hello:and thanks for the welcome,

it's not raining here yet--looks black though, hope it holds off cos I've got a mountain of housework and washing to do:rolleyes:

I need to get my beans into the s.c. have to now 'cos I've just posted on the lose-weight thread that I'm having beans for supper:D

Got to do some urgent paperwork and cycle into uni to hand it in

Have to do some study too, to get into the swing of it otherwise I'll just keep putting it off and run out of time, lol

So some uni stuff, study, housework/cooking, walking the dog, (and 'chill time' this evening--well I don't want to feel too deprived:D ) are essential,

I'd also love to get to the allotment at some point, but thats probably a bit optimistic since it's nearly lunchtime, and looks like rain anyway, ah well

My Sympathies to everyone who's having a hard time, hope things get better soon,

now...better get on or I'll be sat here for hours

have a good day everyone, nice to meet you all
    Anytime;)

    Hi guys,

damp and drizzly here today allthough it looks like it could really pour at any moment. I have spent the last few days in the garden pottering on and it's looking pretty good. I still have the bottom end to dig out, bark over and some planting to do. I have found a builder who is going to fix the front step in a couple of weeks and am awaiting the gates to arrive. They will need a paint and the fence needs a second coat.

I have to plant up some pots today, the house is tidy so that leaves a couple of days worth of ironing and bringing my pennies up to date to do. Nothing to heavy as I ache all over from the last couple of days.

I called in at work on Saturday and had a lovely welcome from them all so am feeling a little better about going back tomorrow. Sunday was very sad as I took the children up to the cemetary to leave some flowers and LO could not understand why his dad was under the ground - cue 100 questions. I should have thought on before we got there as to explaining things better but as it was we all ended up upset, the eldest laid himself down next to the grave and was crying it was just awful.

Anyway got to get on, I hope you are all well and gentle (((((hugs))))) (I like that expression) to all who need one.

    Take care,

    Smoky.

Were you waiting for it to open Twink?:rotfl:

Gosh Kyle, did you really walk 5 miles? And I suppose your oul ma drove straight past you on the way home.:rotfl::rotfl:

Hello everyone, and many thanks for the welcomes back.

My trip to Belfast has been delayed by a few hours - I have an appointment with a job agency, but it has been rearranged for this afternoon instead of this morning. I am concentrating on recruitment agencies to help me find employment. There are quite a few bad ones out there who don't even bother to acknowledge receiving your cv (and all its personal details!) in response to jobs they have advertised. However there are some good ones too and it's a case of having to persevere to find them. Of course I am using the papers and internet etc as well so hopefully I have covered all angles.

I had a blood test done a while ago - asked the doc to check my thyroid action. He should give up medicine and become a psychic as he asked me if I was hoping it would be underactive...flaming cheek! He was right of course:o Anyway, my thyroid is just fine (so that makes me a fat cow cos I eat too much) but my cholesterol is very high. That means I've got to do a bit more healthy eating and a lot less shoving cake in my gob. It's therefore D-Day in SnowyOwlsVille, ie Diet Day. Wish me luck.

Ooo Mr Postie has just arrived, am off now to see if anybody has sent me any cheques. Byezzz!
