OS Daily Wednesday 18th June

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 18th June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
First time I have ever started the thread been up since 2am as took mum too the airport as she is off to see my aunt in Pau. Lovely sunrise so need to get cracking before the kids get up will walk the dogs and put some washing on in a mo .
Bethbee hugs to you and your family
Smokey hugs to you and the kids
Catowen Where are you ?
Aussie hope your sister is doing well
Pen Pin hope you are well
Pen Pen hope you are ok and not too bruised after yesterday
Candy hugs to you and your Dad
I know there are people I have missed so please forgive me and take a hug from the pile.
Have a good day

Morning TiredMum - what an early start to the day for you! I hope you manage to catch up on your sleep.
(((Hugs))) to SMOKY, PENPIN, MRS MIX, BETH and family, CANDYGIRL's DAD and all who need one. Seems there are lots of (((hugs))) needed lately.
CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
Thanks to all your good wishes and Sunnyday's advice, I am well on the mend now. I still wake up a bit sniffly but it's not keeping me awake now for which I am so grateful!
Today's plan is to tolerate DH revamping the porch - the suppliers had ordered the wrong external door and we have ended up with a nicer more expensive one for the price of the one they should have ordered so that's a bonus! Our old door is really rotten which is a bad advert for anyone who calls seeing as how property refurbishment is DH's trade! It's going to look so nice when it's finished that I may treat it to a new house number!
I am collecting GDS from school this afternoon; I had to put the grandchildren's Sunday visit off at the weekend because I didn't feel well, so I'm looking forward to seeing him. DS1 will be picking him up after dinner which will give me a chance to make sure he is definitely better after his week of unexplained illness recently. He says he's fine but you do need to actually look at them, don't you?
Spaghetti Carbonara for dinner tonight; it's one of DS2's favourites and, as I'm feeding him all week until his bride-to-be returns on Friday, I thoughi I'd give him a treat!
We booked DH's ferry to France last night; he's going a week on Saturday for two weeks to help his brother lay a patio round a swimming pool and other jobs that his brother is now lining up to make the most of his visit. I'm looking foward to some peace and quiet and a chance to catch my breath. With DH being self-employed we lead an erratic life which drives me mad because I like to be organised, so it will be a break for me and for him! From the 4th to 6th July I shall be away on my future DIL's hen weekend so I'm looking forward to that. The two weeks on my own will give me a chance to finish off the wedding favours and other projects that need tackling.
Anyway, I'm off for a shower so will catch up with you all later.

G'dday possums,

Been raining cats and dogs here all day. I got in and cleaned the house out. Made a batch of passionfruit cordial, yoghurt cake with lemon drizzle which is lovely. Recipe from here.
I've also been making a bean bag for DGS for his house. This is the 3rd one I've made and I've completely stuffed it up. Lots of unpicking to do and I might have to buy some more rag.
DSis is coming along nicely. Won't hear from BIL until tonight but I think she's coming out of intensive care late this arv. I'm visiting her on Friday. Thank you for asking after her. I'll tell her how special she is.
Charlies Mum I don't think I've ever seen anyone other than the Queen Mum in a lilac dress with matching shoes & a hat.
Are you royalty?
PenPen Thank goodness you had a helmut on. Hope the bruises aren't too bad today.
Lesley <hugs> I can imagine how upsetting that bit of news was.
Catz Well done to your DS. :T
Snowy Lovely to read your post & enjoy your day out to Belfast.
Kyle I made the sweet potato pudding and it was delish.
Do you want the recipe?
Well hope everyone has a happy Wednesday & <hugs> to those not well. ByeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Morning folks.
It is looking to be a real wet day ahead, but as I have to work I am not too bothered. The garden could use a soaking anyway.
It's a bit of a countdown week
1 day until my OH needs to apply for a certain job
2 days of work left
3 days weekend hire for a mini digger to fix my wall.
4 days until my new eggs hatch
5 days until my son flys off to USA on his own (17 and we are anxious)
6 days that I have had some annoying stomach bug
7 days leave booked for 6 days time.
I spent the whole day on a course yesterday which was a little dull, but I had to take it. No free food either.... Who wants to go on a course where you bring your own lunch?
I appear to have lost 1/2 stone.... Which is probably due to me eating less as the stomach bug thing puts you off eating...... Hmmmmm I could use this to start a diet, I need to lose a stone... Will power will power...... Nope can't seem to summon any up
I am off to do the P lunch, pets and shower... cheersNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

Raining here today, and feels quite cold, so looks like Summer is on hold againn:o
Work today, so smoked cod, veg and parsley sauce for dinner. Have to admit to a portion of spong pudding and custard last night (don't tell Slimming World) and it was sooooooo yummy

You never know who you are talking to on here, I could have used one of the Corgis as my avatar
You do realise that if I'm royalty, you are one of my subjects - ooooh, does the Tower of London still have a bed and breakfast facility :rotfl:
Anyhoo, off to walk the dog - in the rain - again
Have a great day everyone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever

morning all,
Looks a bit dull today I think we are in for some rain  , oh well never mind off to W**k today anyway, well I say work its not really, we are off out for lunch and the pictures as a thank you from my boss, we should have gone last week but had to put it off due to sickness, so a nice day for me
We have the rest of the pork chops for tea, with reggae sauce and rice and peas/sweetcorn. Will put the chops in the SC before work. Nice easy tea.
I did mow the lawn yesterday and strimmed :A , and while I was out there the old boy from up the road called me over to see his garden, which is beautiful, he is a lovely old chap, he has several old ladies that he does the shopping for, cos they are getting on, he must be late 70's  , any hoo, he gve me a dish of strawberries from his garden :T , and some seed potatoes which he said if I plant now I will get a crop later in the year, I wanted to put them in a pot, would a new dustbin be ok ?
I often take him up an extra pudding or cake when I am making one, and will take him some of the apples off my tree when they are ready.
Hugs to Pen pen, hope you are not too bruised.
