Not quite took the plunge... I know I need to. Just got job worries as well, so not been brave enough.
  • I called the CCCS, thinking that they wouldn't have heard another tale as bad as ours... but they'd already heard that and worse at least twenty times that day! They really are so helpful and make you see things clearly - they can help you form a plan even if your job is unstable. Fingers crossed for you.

Hi FMN, just my monthly checkup to see how you're doing?

Are you still keeping spending diaries or do you feel things are a little more sure footed now?
Any problems that we may be able to assist with?

Hope you and the family are doing okay.

Hello George and lucielle. I'm back here because I relaxed rather too much. I've gone back to not checking balances and not thinking about what I'm spending. My father in law gave us a bit of cash to help out, and in the back of my mind I suppose I'm starting to think perhaps a book deal is imminent. Which it isn't, I know. Even if a publisher expresses an interest it would be months before any money appeared, so please, I need a good hard slap as the anniversary of my LBM approaches to remind me not to slip back to old ways. We don't have the credit cushion that we did and WE CANNOT AFFORD IT!! I need to go back to accounting for every penny, and thank you both for posting and letting me know, even though I have been a poor presence on the boards lately, that you still care. How are you both doing?

Marathon was run - was very slightly quicker than last time but it was not a glorious performance! I suffered in the heat.

Also, after this marathon together as a family we are proud to say that we have raised about £19,500 for leukaemia charities in the past five years!! If only we were as good at making/holding onto money for ourselves... :p

    Hi FMN

Well done on the marathon - I can't even run to the end of the road!

It sounds like you are having a reality check and need to get back on track. It might be worth joining a few challenges and posting on here regularly. It certainly keeps me in check!

Good luck with getting back on track.

Could you approach your debt busting as raising money for a charity and focus on it that way IYSWIM?
