Hi FMN, glad to hear things are ticking over and you're keeping yourself busy. I think the 5% cut will be okay, but it will all depend on what offers if any i can get when some of my 0% deals run out. Currently only paying £25 on my Virgin card so that's going to be the big hit once that offer ends.

The holiday is about 3 weeks away, but it's going to be "interesting" to say the least. Problems already but i'm not going to say anything until i'm back - don't want to jinx it more than it already is.

FMN - great about the agent, and well done for not only keeping to your money-saving ways but also getting going with the novel.
George - all the best for the holiday :-)

    FMN,

Just posting to say Hi. Just starting the long road to recovery myself.

Read all the posts today, found them very interesting. Just wondering, did any of your creditors actually sell on the debts to DCA's or are all your debts still with the original lenders.
  • Thank you lucielle, you too.

Yes debtfreeian, some of them have been sold on. Some went to lawyers then came back to the original creditor - it's been very confusing. If you're just starting out, really well done, fantastic. It's been a very steep learning curve for us, but the best thing we did was face up to it before it got serious - well, it was serious because our debt was enormous, but until June last year we'd never missed a payment for anything, and that was what was crippling us. Also, keep posting on here. There's so much hard-won wisdom here and the kindness of people helped pull me through the really awful early days. We are on a DMP now. What is your situation?
