Friday 13th has been and gone.

    Nothing to stop you now.
Have you tried doing any of the challanges on the board to keep focussed?

Hi FMN, it sounds as though you're doing really well!
I can't keep track of all the challenges but one that appeals to me is 'payment a day' - even if it's only a penny, it all helps knock the debt down and keep you focused!
There is also a challenge for completing any challenge you want. :D

I don't do any of the challenges but i've heard quite a few people praise the payment a day as miggy suggests. Even if things aren't going well, if nothing else you have reduced the amount of debt you have.

I just stick to my spreadsheets and see if there's any way to pay even less interest to the banks. :D

  • I will give the payment a day a try. Second rejection today... at least they were quick to get back to me and it didn't feel as bad as the first one. And (as the fox shook his fist at the out of reach grapes) this agent just happened to be one of the first listed in the W & A Yearbook and had a nice face on her website...! Will hurt more if/when the ones I "picked" reject the manuscript, but never mind. Lots more to try.

I remember when you first posted and every time your thread comes up I think the same thing as I did back then "this is absolutely the right place to be if you are desperate" :)

As far as challenges go, I am in loads (although dropped out of a couple after spectacular crapness on my part)

I love the sealed pot challenge if only for the amount of chat to entertain you ans stop you spending (and its virtual counterpart) and the 100 days challenge where you specify things that you won't spend on for 100 days, it is great if you have done a spending diary first and can see where you should be trimming back. I am also in the first one to £15k gets a paper hat challenge, we are all at different rates but that doesn't matter and it is very supportive (you could wait until a few of us hit £5k and then join as a £10k challenge).

Or if there is something in particular that you want to do you could create your own and see if anyone else wants to join you.

Or you could just do a thread where you set yourself a list of things to do and get them done so that we can all hold you to account (think flylady or what DFW things have you done today but more general) you could even tenuously link one or two to money saving ;)
