I'm sorry to hear that particular agent didn't work out, but eventually you'll find the right match for your MS. Better luck next time!
I'll keep an eye open for you on the challennge threads - I often look in on several and find them encouraging (and often entertaining!) though the only one I'm actually participating in right now is for 'no spend days'.

  • Thank you p.a.i.d. (ooh, nice acronym!) I'm going to check out all the challenges now.

Received a third MS rejection....which mentioned that the agent had "carefully read" my "novel". Well, she can't have read it that carefully because from the first sentence it's clearly not a novel! Still, three agents have not rejected it yet and I'm lining up my list of possibles for the next mailing and in the meantime I'm collecting the "no thanks" letters to look out as and when someone DOES like it! :o Fingers crossed anyhow...

She wouldn't make much of a proof reader, would she?
Never mind, plenty more fish in the Writers & Artists' Year book, if you'll excuse the mixed metaphor!

  • Hello, a quick update on the debts... 3 lovely creditors (Capital One, Egg and First Direct) have been brilliant and accepted our reduced payments via the DMP and have frozen charges/interest. 2 are sending solicitors/debt collectors letter (Halifax, HSBC) and two others (Lloyds and MBNA) are still sending demands, but not so scarily. I think all have now defaulted us. Writing that down, I can't believe now how we got ourselves into the position of owing so much money to so many different people...
