  • Thank you George and Lucielle for what you say about the holiday.

George - I know we should put some money aside fof F and F settlements - we've had two offers now - one 50% and the other about 30% - but without the money we're powerless. Yes, all our creditors have frozen charges - some "temporarily" but we haven't been told they'll start again at this point. What a pain about your computer - I hate not having one. Very impressed you're able to tinker with a motherboard though!

How are things with you lucielle?

  • Hi lucielle

Sorry not to have posted for a long time. We have slid a bit since the holiday in August, and are overdrawn for the first time since last year :o . Feeling awful about it, but dealing with it postively by reducing outgoings right down to a minimum again. We did have a lovely holiday though, and really weren't extravagant so I'm not too sorry. My husband I hope will get a some kind of Christmas bonus next month which should help, but it will be another lean Christmas. Still haven't sold my book.... lots of positive feedback from publishers but everyone is nervous in the current climate, and my book doesn't exactly look like a besteller. Meanwhile though I have started writing a novel - my agent was keen on my story idea, and I have promised him three chapters by the end of this month.

    How is everything with you?

Good to see you girls are still around. I didn't want to bump this thread (for another month) incase you thought i was some kind of stalker.

Don't forget that each time the insurance is to be renewed you should look for the best offers and try to get cash back if possible. Same for the utilities - keep your eye on the prices of everything. As it's a lean Christmas, you could ask Santa for a new spending diary :D

If you do get Christmas bonuses, it may be worth trying F&F offers on some of the smaller debts - especially those that may still be charging interest.

    Good luck with the novel.

  • I'd never think you were a stalker George!

I have to get myself out of the mindset of..." when I get my book advance.." because obviously it may never happen. I know I need to look at insurance, utilities, etc again because there have been some changes - I am just focussing on getting three chapters written by the end of the month at the moment, but that's silly when every penny counts - if I gave up a day to do it, then it would be done :D

Are you alright at the moment George?

Got a cold right now, small wobble on the gambling but didn't fall off the wagon and i'll need to look at new 0% cards and existing offers pretty soon.

Basically, your guess is as good as mine :rotfl:

  • Thanks lucielle :D

George, I forgot to say that all of our creditors froze interest. I'd love to pay some off though, but with small overdraft :o I'm not sure how possible that is... I need to get my files out again and see what the situation is with each of them. And yes I WILL ask F.C. for a new spending diary!

Thanks both of you for your ongoing support. :o
