Good to hear from you again FMN.
Well done for keeping positive - I'm sure the holiday was worth every penny, it can make you feel so much better - and all the best with the book!

Hi FMN
Don't beat yourself up. You have done so well to get where you are.
How are the chapters coming along?
Have you been looking at getting free money? Scratchcards can help to up the income a little. It all helps.
Waving to you

Thank you Miggy and urg. Can't believe it's more than a month since I've been here!
I know I need to get back on track, but things have been so muddly with little bits of money coming in - it's been hard to stay disciplined. My goal is to try and get a new SOA posted before Christmas because our gas/electric bills and some insurance dds have shot up, so I need to take them in hand again.
Thank you for asking about the book. I got the chapters off to my agent at the beginning of November and he was really encouraging about what I'd written so far and had some helpful advice (criticism!) too which is all good in the end. STILL no publisher for my first book, but I'm quite resigned to that taking a long time because of current times and the heavy subject matter. It would be lovely to get a novel published so all i have to do is finish it and hope!
I hope all is well out there, and everyone is coping with the prospect of Christmas.

What a very inspiring thread. It's amazing how much can happen in a year isn't it? I must admit to not having read every post and therefore may be asking an already worn out question, but what's your novel about FMN? When should we be looking for it in the shops:)I let my mind wander and it never came back!0

MegandNicsmum - thank you for those lovely comments, I really appreciate it. Though I seem to have dropped the reins a bit lately I AM going to pick them up again! I have had so much support here and really believe that I would not have been able to turn things around as much as I have without all of you.
Hi George- no I haven't forgotten, I know that ways of this board are the only ones out of debt madness. I just have to remember to keep at them! I think it's almost worse for my self-discipline that we've had a couple of lucky (un-planned for) amounts of money come in. I have to treat them outside of the budget rather than let them sink into our account and think "oh, well I can relax for a bit now," because that is sick-thinking. If and when they turn up I know I should move them into our "savings" account (I use the term loosely..) or divide them between our creditors, or something... How are things with you?
lucielle, I will get that SOA posted! I think it will be a shock for me..
consultant, thank you! My first book is a true life account of my daughter. I have a lovely agent, but so far no publisherThe story looks gloomy, although it isn't and now isn't a good time for them to take a risk, apparently. My novel is historical, starting in the first world war and it's about the damage secrets can do to a married couple. I'm aiming to finish it by the spring but even if it was snapped straight away it would be a while before it is published! Thank you asking.
churchrat, thank you so much and I will keep posting - starting with that pesky SOA..
