Oooh I love a good cheap carvery!!
One of my favourite type of meals, but I'd begrudge spending more than £8 for it (that's my Xmas Eve price; £5 rest of the year!)

I had a little "tradition" going with somebody and we'd have a carvery every Xmas Eve at a particular old pub in Cornwall... but have now been informed it won't be happening this year as she's got a bloke :(

    I'll miss that meal.

Is she having him roast or boiled?

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
