Received my annual renewal summary from More Th>n (Royal Sun & Alliance) for the combined Home Insurance for the next 12 months. They quoted £391.68 for the year via installments.

After following the MSE’s advice, the best comparable quote I get was from esure via GoCompare. They quoted £159.71 using the same payment terms, a saving of £131.97.

    Now for my car insurance....

    :T:T

It's really important with esure that you ensure your contents sum insured is at least the new cost of replacing ALL of your contents.

    Thanks for the advice.

Actual, I've over estimated the value of my contents (i.e added about 75% to the value of my estimated).

Here's a new site that compares all the different vouchers and cashback, you just put in which company you're interested in.

  • Hi Everyone,

I was on very limited time today but needed to change insurers fast, I was with Barclays and my renewal was just short of £700! a reminder from Go-Compare prompted me to do another quick check as my details were already saved from last year.

There were many offers available with a variety of incentives like cash back, and free home emergency cover. As this was already included with my current policy I opted to have this included and with a well known name The Co-Operative. I saved in excess of £350 and at face value the policy looks just as good.

Point to remember - if you do this check your policy when it arrived to ensure the cover it adequate

Pay annualy if you can, I didn't this time and it was cost me around £18 more over the year which isn't to bad but as Martin said you may get a card interest rate cheaper, however if you don't trust yourself to make adequate card repayments a monthly option may be better.

Don't forget to cancel exisiting direct debit once happy with policy

I didn't use a cash back site do to time etc but there may one available

Don't be complaicent and not shop around because of previous claims. I have unfortunately had 2 claims in the last 5 years and still saved money

    Hope this helps

Combined home and contents for £139 with Legal and General via Gocompare ...
    £100 M&S vouchers
but as yet no £50.50 cashback via Topcashback.
Will wait three months before claiming but
I've been through the Topcashback "missing cashback" claim process before and based on that don't expect to ever hear back!

It says on the TCB website that the cashback will show as 000 for 4 months then the amount will show.

Did they send out the vouchers right away?
    travelover

As expected my house & contents renewal turned up, with the usual increase for an existing customer - £113.42 all in for another year.

A dummy check with DL online brought that down to £90.10p with the online discount etc.

A phone call (using the 0800 number from saynoto0870), and a little discussion, got me down to £89.04 for the year.

    Paid, done and dusted.
  • Has anyne had their M&S vouchers from legal and general and how long did they take?

    Can anyone help me please?

I have only ever had building insurance and as I have had my property over 12 months I am looking at getting both contents and building

currently I am with nationwide who sent me a renewal at £208 as a credit agreement for building only.

I am thinking of cancelling that and doing a cash back scheme for both building and contents.

what sort of money should I be looking at, is £208 for building only for 12 months expensive that nationwide charged me?

    thanks

There is another discussion regarding the legal & general offer of m&s vouchers. There is a code that you use on the l&g site to get the vouchers. I asked the question could I get cashback and vouchers if I go via TCB.

Has anyone had success with this
