planning on keeping them in greenhouse.
The problem you will have is that they won't have enough sun in the winter to allow fruit to ripen. I would wait until next year and sow them in early spring.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Hi All
New to this thread but it looks really useful. I bought a greenhouse last year and grew peppers and tomatoes in it. Toms weren't bad, but the peppers were odd. They grew like mad, had loads of fruit and every one of the fruits developed very pale beigey patches which eventually caved in. I didn't pick one pepper. This year I've only got two plants in the greenhouse, loads of flowers and some fruit now. Fingers crossed no sign of the strange beige patches yet. Someone said it could be blossom end rot - but they were on the sides as well as the ends. Anyone got any ideas what it could be. Wrote to the RHS and they didn't know. Said take photos and send to us if it happens again! I put half a dozen plants outside this year just to see what would happen - didn't grow, looked pale and weedy so I threw them. Wondering if I should have kept going now. I also planted some tagetes in a tub and put that in the greenhouse to keep whitefly away. Haven't had any whitefly so that seems to have worked. Ordinary French Marigolds got slugged last year, but they don't seem to find the little tagetes as tasty.Dec GC £100/76.61/16.46/10.19 - £103.26

It certainly could be blossom end rot which according to the info on the site below can affect the sides of peppers too.

I've discovered it on several of my greenhouse tomatoes this afternoon so was just looking up info about it myself before I read your post. Would have to be on the ones that are just coming ripe enough to pick too
Think mine was caused by erratic watering though as unfortunately the ones in growbags dried out to the point they were wilting over twice last week

right, my chilli pepper plant has come out with a huge bright ornage flower. i'm starting to think i my have mislabeled it as it looks like my squash plant.
Should it have little needle liek hairs on it??? and it is quite large in comparison and doesn't look anything like mY pePper plants (if that's what they are) totally lost the plot with my palnts atmI have dyslexia, so get used to my spelling and grammar

Ok honey, I think you DID mis-label. All my pepper and chilli flowers have been white and fairly small with no hairs on but when I grew squash last year, they had orange flowers and yes, the plant had hairs. Still, it sounds like it's nice and healthy anyway!!:DTo be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar.
