Longforthesun, I think he's just trying a bit of reverse psychology on you. So you then think I'm a great customer, these guys think I am, lets stay that way and you offer to pay them.
I remember with Next Directory. I sent them a letter about the DMP. They phoned me and said I was a good customer and that I could come to a payment arrangement with them and then make further orders when the debt was cleared. Funny they wouldn't give me a payment arrangement when I asked for one. I used to sit and look at my debt with them (about £500) in despair. It would all have been kids clothes which have long since been outgrown and sent to charity. :mad:0 -

He then asked if i was looking to have the debt written off or was I entering an IVA i said no a DMP. He then said you have had a good payment history and been a good customer, the guy then said okay we will wait for your income and expenditure to come from CCCS then be in touch so i said okay then the guy said thanks for taking my call. Was an okay conversation but just a bit weird. Do you think the fact that he mentioned I had been a good customer will make them look more favourable or is that wishfull thinking on my part.
My Amex card was passed to RMA. He went through pretty much the same thing with me the only difference was that he didn't suggest I borrowed the money. As soon as I mentioned the DMP, he just took my Payplan id, told be he was glad I was seeking help and could he have permission to contact Payplan directly. I said yes (which I put in writing) he thanked me for taking his call and that was it.
Had a call a while later saying they had spoken to Payplan and as my DMP still had a month before it started, would I send them a token payment, which I did.
Haven't heard from them since. They deal directly with Payplan and have so far accepted everything they've been offered.
People on here seem to have different experiences with RMA, but in my experience they were very polite, treated me with respect and accepted my offer.LBM : March 2008

Ex-Spendaholic I have to admit although I would not (can't) pay them the arrears it made me feel abit awful them saying you have been a good customer and me now not paying. Still i'll get over it. I also have a Llyods CC and have never missed a payment until this month the payment was approx 20days late when I received my new statement with a message saying due to the poor way you have managed your account we have reduced your credit limit. I hate to see what they are going to say next month when i am 2 months in arrears.
Tigert I too have heard some horror stories about RMA thankfully they have been okay with me the guy did say they would take me off the dialer for the next 4 days to give cccs a chance to get my I&E to MBN, lets hope they stay nice.February 2013 NSD - 40 -

I'm trying to work out a new budget (with no idea of my reduced income, so running around in cirles!), got my head bitten off on another thread and so I've come back to where the atmosphere is a bit friendlier!LBM:FEB 2008

I can't believe that happened to you! However we all got here no-one should be judging or sniping at anyone else surely?0 -
I don't know what happened Rugbymum but don't let anyone annoy you.
Does anyone know who Apex Credit Management work on behalf of? Out of the blue I got a call tonight which I missed. I rang the number back and got the automated service. I never hear from DCAs now so thought this was a little weird. Maybe I've annoyed one of my creditors by claiming charges. :rotfl:0 -
