  • I'm a pizza snob too (must be cos I'm half Italian and used to the genuine thing)! But, I don't mind eating a lot of the value items and you can adapt lots of stuff so it tastes better. I've found myself a routine for the batch cooking/baking too. I work for myself (a lot of long hours) but give myself a Friday afternoon off to cook as homemade is lovely and cheap! I always keep staples in the cupboard too. (that's food not the things you use to attach paper!)

    ;)

    hi all,
firstly im really sorry to not have been on here for yonks.have a new puppy so cant get on much.hope everyones ok.
have been doin ok on the dmp although havent been able to increase my £69 month payment on 20 grand so its still goin to take about 25 years!!!!
today i had a solicitors letters from mint loans that i owe £5500 on and cccs are only payin them £5 monthly.they accepted it up to now .....but letter says they want full bal before 25 july or they will start court.i cant afford anymore monthly but i think if it goes to court, the judge will let them put a charge on the house, at the least, cos he wont be able to set the ccj at £5 cos it has to stay at that for as long as it takes to pay off, which will be never cos i think i will be dead, iykwim.
dh has been really good up to now but i fear he may go ballistic if i get another ccj or a house charge.cccs dont open til mon so its really making me physically sick.
i really need you guys to help, especially RAYDAY, if you are there.you have always been really great with advice and you know exactly what to do and prob what mint will do.
i know im askin alot cos ive been away for ages but please help me so i dont resort to anything drastic as i already have bad depression and fear this could be the last straw, as it doesnt take much for me to over react to anything these days.
heartfelt thanks for your speedy replies,
    love ilgd xx

Hi ilgd, I'm sorry you are so worried at the moment, I have only just made my 1st payment via Payplan so haven't got much advice to give as I'm still learning, but you have my support and best wishes that things won't be as bad as you fear.
I hate that stomach churning feeling cos it makes you feel so vulnerable and small.
I'm sure some of the big guns will be along shortly with a plan of action for you.
  • Got our CCCS pack this mornng. Received a letter yesterday from M&S saying to contact them re our letter letting them know we are having difficulties. The girl was nice took our cccs ref number and advised will wait to hear from them. Hopefully they will all be as helpful as M&S.

Hi greatdanes - sorry you're having a bad time of it. Can't help much as so far have managed to avoid any CCJ 's. But mint loans are one of my creditors :o

Can you call anyone else for a bit of help - are national debtline open, or CAB?

Stay calm, it's only money. Even a charge on your house doesn't mean you have to do anything until you actually want to move/sell up ;)
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?
  • I back what newlywed says. And, a Judge is fair to both parties and won't make you pay what you can't afford.

Can any people with either company (or even running your DMP yourself) comment on this?

CCCS or Payplan which is better and why?

CCCS or Payplan which is better and why?

Hi thanks Fermi for that sorry I couldnt find this thread anywhere but now I have I will copy my post here:

    Hi

I have seen many references to people using CCCS but not many for Payplan. Maybe its just me not noticing but is there a reason?

I would like to know which is the better of the 2 DMP and why as I am about start looking into arranging a DMP.

I have completed the online questionaire with both CCCS and Payplan but I cannot contact CCCS until Monday (as lines are closed over weekend), but I have had a call within the hour of submitting the details from Payplan who have arranged a financial meeting by phone with me tomorrow morning (Sunday).

I have seen much praise of CCCS but very little to Payplan and wondered what the differences were and what other's views were, from a user point or not?

I have already completed my SOA (and posted it). Digested the advice, looked online for moneysaving, moneymaking ideas, signed up to a few sites that pay vouchers or suchlike for a litle bit of surfing.

Having sat here for almost a week and felt overwhelmed by the confusion and stress of being in debt I have made the next steps....

I have completed the CCCS online questionaire and cant call them until Monday as they are closed at weekends.

I also completed the Payplan questionaire, and to my surprise had a phonecall within the hour from an advisor who checked a few details and arranged for someone to callback with a 'finacial interview' tomorrow morning!

I take this opportunity to thank all those lovely people out there (you know who you are) who have given me the courage to get this far

    Many thanks.

    :D

Proud to be dealing with MY debts - I am not an ostrich! :T

    Many thanks
  • Okay so another 2 creditors spoken too and thankfully they have been okay. Mercer's said though that i was nearing the process of a door step collector and if i could pay some money now it would prevent this i explained that i did not want to make a payment for the amount they were asking as CCCS may give them a lower ammount in my DMP and I did not want them thinking well she could afford it last month, the guy was okay with this and suggested i contacted CCCS on monday and see what they say he did say he would put a stop on the calls for the next few days to let me speak to CCCS. So i think all in all not too bad a day.

Just wanting to send a big hug to ILGD. Chin up. Things have been worse than this before, haven't they? Its easy for me to say but try not to panic. Ring CCCS first thing Monday morning or even message them now (so you feel you've done something) and they will help you out.

The way I see it you are paying them what you can afford. A judge will see that and I would imagine would be fair. As Newlywed said a charging order will only come into place if you are going to sell the house anyway so it is a bit worthless to Mint.

I hope you get this sorted.
