Evening,
i posted last week about a problem with PPI and late charges re GE Capitol (store card). I phoned today and just got the run around. I looked at the mis-selling of PPI and its not appropriate in my case. I will write to them to ask for a refund as the PPI was put back on my claim despite me telling them that i wanted it cancelled. Been with CCCS for about 4 years, about 6 more to go and these are a real pain. Does anyone have some advice on my next step, apart from writing to them, should i phone the number i was given for there debt collection and discuss or just not bother and write to them instead? sorry to ramble on.
Thanks

Thanks, I intend to stick around, am going to need questions answered and also support on the days the nasty calls/letters start!!.
I have just spent last half hour doing my filing and also clearing space in an old ring binder and labelled it up as my DMP file!! :T0 -
hiya guys Really IMPORTANT
dont want to worry you all about this but i do believe we need to take action of some kind regarding potential charging orders
i was already aware of this last week but have been looking more into it, and im waiting on my mp office to call me back as i feel this is important especially for us on this forum and board
have a look and pls sign we need to send a fantastic responce to the government, otherwise there will be lots more repossessions - i dont want to be a scaremongera,,,but i feel passionate about this and am willing to stand up and be counted, our homes are really at threat here, have a look at the links then decide for yourselves

ciao will be back laters maz
Hi Maz - this is sooooo wrong! Maybe worth starting a new thread to draw everyone's attention to this?
I think if this goes through there will be no point in DMP's, I might as well go bankrupt if I'm going to lose my home anyway, that will be the only way to stop the nastier creditors getting more than their fair share....
nice to see that there's protection for people who owe less than £1000, though.... (wait a minute, aren't there a couple of "0"'s missing in that number???
Off to sign the petition now....

Yep, that just about sums up how I feel right now ... what is the point of even trying.
For what it's worth, I've signed the petition.
I think we best get our names down on the council housing list (do people still do that these days). I'm already at the stage of wondering whether to try and sell our home, pay the debts off and rent somewhere but I wouldnt have a clue where to start really. I dont want to be having to move every six months, or twelve months ... I was hoping for stability for my family.

Hi
Your feelings are why I did not post this live last week.
Bear in mind that the law has been passed but not effected and there are loads of areas where the Government has yet to decide how to run it (delegated powers), if they run it. They have already largely halted one section in bailiffs because of the furore.
There is lots of scope for this to become a major issue for the political parties. MPs get scared if they get 12 letters about a subject - just 12. How many folk are there on here who could be affected of know someone who would be affected?
Arrange to meet your MP and explain what your situation is and how this would affect you.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

all this on the day I have my payplan meeting.. im starting to get really worried again now0 -
Thanks RAS
I did pop over to have a look at the other thread in relation to the "warning" and was relieved to see your posts - you are such a fountain of knowledge for us all
I'm at a low point but I know that I've just got to dig out that old fighting spirit and say "bring it on"! I fought the O.R. tooth and nail (when my ex declared himself bankrupt) to keep this house for me and my little ones so I will not let creditors try to force us out of our home without a fight if (or when) the time comes.
I will make a point of learning all I need to know about this issue and it is reassuring to know that there are lovely people like you who take the time and effort to break down the legal jargon. I'm no stranger to that type of "language" but I know a lot of people will struggle to make sense of it.
In the meantime, it's business as usual, the creditors will be paid as usual and I will keep a close eye on what unfolds.
I'm off to find out who my local MP is(how embarrassing is that?!).
