Assuming you have some form of card, is it not on there?
Hi Ianmak, it's the cccs sort code I need, they have sent a transcash slip for paying in at the post office, but Jvic said he'd paid his first payment via online banking, and mine requires a sort code as well as the cccs account code... It's Alliance & Leicester commercial bank, if that helps...I guess I could phone my bank and ask...(if I can get through to a human being, that is!)

hiya folks
we really are a nice bunch here you know, pats on all our backs,
ive just escaped from the house prices thread,,,,,some of them are a little catty to say the least,,,lol
oh dear i do hope they are as enriched as they say they are, pride comes before a fall, i recall
hope some of them dont lose their jobs or have to take a lower paid job when are made redundant like ive had to in my life and my husband in the past few years ,
it just shows that those people either who have been fortunate not to get into debt, or have been savvy to avoid debt really have no idea what its all about, they dont want to venture on our board, yet im telling you now - i never want to meet any of those high and mighty people neither,
everyones circumstances are different and we all know how our debts have occured, yes at times i put my hand up, after a bit of a bad month ive gone and spent wow something on myself, a desperate new pair of shoes i needed for work , say 20.00. what a devil i put it on the credit card and yes im paying the consequence now as i had no other money to pay for them. But im not intending to go bankrupt i will pay my debts!
tonight really has taught me one thing, i know i can get debt free, because at least ive admitted to myself ive a goal to reach, and its at testing times like this that it becomes a way of character forming.
So im glad they dont venture over to us, as id rather have us people who really understand other problems to help each other postively.
everyone to their own point of view, but i seen a side to human nature i really didnt like tonight, that is so sad
anyway enough of my thoughts - have a good eve and good week, and keep happy ciao for now laters mazSealed Pot Challenge member 1525

I got the sort code off their website. Log in and go to the "your plan" section, if you bring up the standing order mandate the sort code is on there. When you make the payment make sure your cccs reference number is attached to the payment so that they can allocate it to your account. It's probably worth following it up with an email to make sure they have received the payment. Remember online banking isn't always immediate so up to you whether you want to do that or just go to the post office (remember costs £2.60 at post office).DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0 -

Don't know if this is th right place to post....but here goes
I am waiting a phone interview with CCCS tommorrow, my DH is self employed, can we still qualify for a DMP? Also who sets out the individual debt payments, is it CCCS or us, as we have some tiny balances ( I say tiny..in comparison to our monster debts...lol) so should I try and pay the small ones off without including them in DMP, or just lump them all in together?
Sorry to waffle, new hereLife is full of lessons...wish I had been awake in the one entitled 'Do you really need that stuff?'

If I was in your situation I would lump them all togather. The idea of the DMP is that CCCS ar aware of your full financial situation and base everything on you income and expenditure so it shoudld incude the lot. CCCS work out all the payments for you. You pay them one amount and they distribute it fairly between your creditors.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0

hi peeps
I hope you dont mind but I just wanted to ask a quick question. When CCCS do a review what actually happens? Do we have to supply all our bank statements to show we have stuck to their budget correctly? We did our DMP over the net but when we are due for a review will we have to go in person or can it be done over the phone/net?
Cheers0 -

Hi,
I just had my 1st review and it couldn't have taken more than 10 minutes. They ran through the budget and I supplied the figures. ie. how much for shopping, clothes, bills, mortgage etc. The also asked value of poperty etc. Then worked out my monthly surplus which would be paid to them. Mine went from £103 - £120 but obviously if you kept your figures the same it would stay the same. They didn't ask for any bank statements or payslips etc.
It was much easier than I thought and nothing to worry about.

Hi all,
Just been reading through the posts on the Electron debit card and the various problems with certain places not accepting them. I cant see anyone that has mentioned the Solo debit card. This is the basic version of the old Switch card (now Maestro). I have one of these and I have never been told I cant use it, either on line or in the shops. Dont know if it depends on what bank you use as to what card you get (I'm with Nat West), but I'd advise anyone who needs a basic bank account, to get one with a Solo card, as it works just as well as my old Lloyds Visa debit card did.
Cocker
We started on a DMP (with Payplan) in June and opened a NatWest STEP account to replace our vastly overdrawn current accounts. One of the things I was worried about was managing with a Solo card but I've not found it anywhere near as restrictive as I thought I would.
The only times I've missed my old Visa debit card are when booking train tickets (you can't use Solo on thetrainline.com or in person at a station) and when buying home insurance online (many insurers didn't accept Solo). Other than that we've been OK.
I agree with sunshine38 about checking shop windows to see what cards are accepted - I do feel that people see the Solo card and make a judgement about my finances (a correct judgement probably!). I still prefer to use my Solo card rather than cash because if I spend £31 on shopping I don't want to take £40 out because the other £9 is then burning a hole in the pocket rather than sitting in the bank.
I've been following this forum for a while and have picked up lots of useful snippets of advice. Things have gone relatively smoothly for us but we have been pestered to death by some creditors and we are still paying interest and charges to some so we still have a way to go. I'm sure I'll be back with my own requests for advice at some point.
To those thinking of starting out on a DMP I'd say it's the best decision we made for our circumstances. It can be a real struggle to exist on the budget and you have to get used to thinking about money in a different way, but the biggest difference is that now we are in control of our struggles, not out of control as we were when we reached "breaking point".0 -
Quick question if I may ... I've got my nice shiny new bank details through and have just requested my salary to be paid into there, so clock is now ticking ... I have until 15th of October until Lloyds realise something is up, so I have to get a move on with returning my CCCS forms, statements etc. How long (roughly) does it take from me returning all the paperwork to CCCS and them doing the official stuff with my creditors, please - ie, when does everyone find out and start screaming? Quite a few of my monthly commitments have already been paid for this coming month (15th Sept to 15th Oct, that is) as most of my DDs were set up to be paid almost straight away after my salary goes into my bank on the 15th, so is the CCCS payment likely to take effect in time for next month's payments in a month's time? And as I will have paid the required minimum to my creditors this month, is that likely to make them refuse the CCCS payment plan - will they say that as I could afford it this month (I can't, but scraped the payments) then they won't accept less next month from CCCS?
I just don't know how quickly these things work .. will I have to factor in a "token" payment for next month, or are CCCS likely to have everything up and running in a month?
Thanks, as ever ... and Maz, you're absolutely right about people's attitudes ... my debt has built up over many, many years for a number of reasons - some of them genuinely good, unavoidable reasons, some of them my own bleedin' fault (and I'll hold my hand up to that one, I have spent when I shouldn't have and hope that I've learned that lesson now!), but the old saying about don't judge someone until you've walked a mile in his shoes absolutely holds true in debt cases, I think. As well as many others! Never judge, lest ye be judged in return. Or something like that!
