Yeah, well, try Lloyds whose collection department don't know their donkey from their elbow.0 -
Quick question - i am on a 'Low Start DMP' with CCCS because I only just have enough to make more than token payments. There is a DCA who write to me demanding payment for a debt I have never heard of. They have never proven the debt. They have sent a Statutory Demand - to which i replied asking for proof, which never came. I did not include them in the DMP as i am not willing to acknowledge this debt. Now they have sent a letter saying they are in a position to present a Bankruptcy Petition.
Shoudl I just pass this to CCCS?Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

hello hello dolly (love that film) ...
I will reiterate what the others have said, bailiffs can't come to your house unless you have broken a Court Order. Creditors like to say all sorts of wonderful things in their letters and during telephone conversations (ie we will send the bailiffs, we will take your belongings, we will stick pins in your eyes, etc etc) but they are trying to scare you and counting on the fact that you don't know your rights and the legal system. Get wise on how stuff works and this will provide goo ammo when you write/speak to them.*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0 -
Hi
Thought some of you may like to be updated -I have just spoken to E-on (tried earlier on hold for 30 mins gave up now just took me another 20 mins just to get through  ).
They have put me on the vulnerable repayments scheme. Apparantly my monthly usage has gone up. I was quoted "Your bill in April 07 was £231.58 the April 08 bill came out at £381. this is partly due to price hikes, the last being in February this year, and mostly due to your increase in consumption due to the cold weather we had!"
Bunkam! I told them, we have cavity wall insulation and loft insulation and hardly ever use the heating in winter as its fairly hot in here anyway.
He then gave me a number to call their Energy Efficiency Department who could help show how to reduce our bill. And there was I thinking we are reasonably good at energy saving alreadyHowever the department is closed for the evening so will call them tomorrow.
They managed to reduce the bill by £30. My current payment for combined bill has been £50 a month. They wrote to me last week and told me that will increase to £133. a month from August due to a debit of £303. After speaking to them today and telling them only income I have is £300 Incapacity it was arranged I pay £91 a month for the energy we use and (£3 a week) £12 on top for the debt therefore £103 a month instead of £133. Saving £30 a month. But at that rate it would take around 3 years to pay off, 3 years not having the option available to ditch and switch  Obviously I will try to pay a little extra whenever I can.
So I have saved £30 a month instead of reducing my Incapacity benefit income from 3rd party deductions. :T
But of course I wont show them on my DMP
Thanks again everyone :beer:0 -
Evening
Sounds good Ghosthunter.
I haven't heard anything from Hellifax Visa in months. It has been passed to Blair Oliver Scott who as far as I'm aware are their inhouse DCA. Anyway I was looking through my document store online and found statements from Jan-March this year. The f*****s have been adding on a cool £125.00 per month interest.    Considering they are getting £9.19 a month (or something paltry like that) there is no way this will ever been settled. I know they had suspended interest at one stage but they must have started it again. I don't know when it actually did start again so the could be effectively £1500 in interest added on to the original debt.  Also as I've had no statements or anything since March I don't know if the DCA are still merrily adding on this charge.
Can anyone advise on the best way forward with this. I am already waiting on £650 refund of charges to be credited to the account but I want this interest back now too. Cheeky barstewards.
We are off out to a BBQ now in the persisting rain. :rotfl:0 -

My debt to Halifax is an overdraft. Each time they ask for a review they tend to start adding interest again. This has happened a few times (have been on DMP for nearly six years). Each time I phone them up and ask them if this is a mistake and each time they say yes it's a mistake, sorry and refund the money...0 -
HI all and welcome to all newcomers!
Feel a bit out of touch with you all recently as I can no longer use this site whilst at work (bit cheeky really)! and at night, seems all I have time to do is read the days posts, get tea ready, put little one (well 10 yr old) to bed and then maybe catch a bit of TV......
Anyway thought I would update you all........
After a horrible week last with and worrying myself stupid about the evil Mercers who said they were sending somebody round to the house and BCard would NOT accept any sort of deal of plan now etc etc..... well found out today via Payplan that Bcard have accepted the DMP :rotfl: Horray !!!!!!!!
I know there has been a few posts recently about Mercers and their threats. Hopefully my situation may ease anxieties over them, as the women I spoke to was adamant that a door step collector was calling and any plan would not be accepted. They will say anything to get you to pay as they are on commission.
I have also had confirmed that 2 x Natwest cards have accepted, AA loan and CC Card - 5 down - 8 to go!
Getting there slowly but surely........

Good progress there Angel Cake. Well done.
Tass, thanks for the info.
LCT, welcome to the club. Are you just starting out? Do you know you can do the DMP online with CCCS - you don't actually have to ring them if you don't want to. As you are fired up and ready to go now, why not do the online debt remedy.0
