I couldnt have said it better myself thats exacly how I feel. :T It seems to get slower and slower the faster you try to sort yourself out im not usually one to be so impatient but when it comes to me trying to deal with my debts and help myself out of a hole I want it done yesterday! :rotfl:0 -
Hi all, finally bitten the bullet and phoned CCCS for a budget review. Means my payments decrease by about £70 so will take a few months longer to pay off debt
They seemed pretty confident though that I shouldn't have too much problem from creditors as all the things that have increased have been rent, council tax, petrol, food - all essentials. I have decreased a little in other areas too, which apparently should please them (maybe) They say the way the country is going all these things are increasing and so creditors will have to accept changes like that.
But I did leave it too late for it to start from Aug so just one more month and then I should have a bit less of a struggle.
So have yet to find out if the creditors mind the reduced paymentsworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
I wonder if National Debtline would give me a hand with re-jigging our budget, hmm. Couldn't get help from CCCS or Payplan because of self employment but maybe just some advice on how our budget looks is possible. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Anyone here have experience of being in debt to Payday loan companies?LBM June 2008 Debt at LB £6906.65 :eek:Payments to date-£2933.871 year to lose:j 20 pounds- September 2009 (9 so far) (Weight loss the old style way)"A life lived in fear, is a life half lived"0 -
Hello hello hello!! :hello:
How is everyone? I hope you are all very well. The exciting news is that I have entered into a Scottish Trust Deed, which is very similar to an IVA (only with bits of tartan on it!). I was having probs with some creditors, in that after my first year of DMP they started to charge silly amounts of interest and fees. I would literally have never paid off the debt. However, the lovely people at PayPlan made my realise that an IVA type product is nothing to be scared of. I'll be debt free within three and a half years instead of the 9/10 I was quoted, but much longer than that in reality with interest charges. Creditors are allowed 5 weeks to object, but seens as I haven't heard anything from them, it looks like they've all accepted and it will start on 1st August.
It's a big relief, as it's so much more predictable. The only danger is I could be made bankrupt if I lapse on the payments, but given that my car finance is included in this, the payments are actually more manageable, so fingers crossed I'll be fine.
Don't get me wrong, DMP definitely works for a lot of people and suited me brilliantly for the first year, but 18 months in it started to fall apart so it was time to take action.
I hope I'll still be welcome on here every so often to say hi, despite the fact I've jumped ship!!!
Take care everyone and keep smiling!!
