Afternoon everyone. Got my welcome back from CCCS this morning it says my DMP will start in September. I wrote to all our creditors saying it would be August hope none of them mind too much. Got a text today from Barclaycard saying my account has been pased to Mercers now I know this is their inhouse DCA so does that mean interest and that might be stopped or does this only happen when it is actually passed onto an external dca? Today I have decided to look out paper work on a secured loan we paid off last year. We only had the loan approx 18months and had PPI on it so hoping we may be able to claim something back, off to read Martins advice page on this.February 2013 NSD - 40

I did the same as well, I think I am just going to send them all payments as per the CCCS calculation on 1 August, unless someone thinks this is a really bad idea?0 -
HI Ossireo I was thinking of doing that too. I can't see it being a problem.February 2013 NSD - 40

Can anyone help with this??
We are trying to downsize (a bit) to help with our finances and have been on a DMP for 6 months. Have made initial contact with our mortgage provider about moving our fixed rate BUT the bloke couldn't say whether we would need to be re-credit checked or not. Didn't mention the DMP cos I reckon they would run a mile or would they as we are trying to do this to help our finances.
ANY help/advice would be really appreciated! Jan 2008-Paid 74% of debt as of MAR 2012 (DFD - APR 2014) DMP Support Thread Member 154  DFW Long Hauler 116:grin: Official DFW Nerd Club 928- Proud to be dealing with my debts :grin:0 -
Hi everyone i am 7 months into my DMP and already struggling with my payments . I wish id have thought about the DMP when i first entered into it and put alittle extra on things . I have down for example £250 a month for food shopping for 2 adults 3 children i am finding it really hard to stick to this (what do you think a realistic budget for food should be for a family of 5 ? ).
Also i have got a really big gas bill from winter so my gas ,electric have gone up to £195 per month (this amount will be for the next 3 months just to even my bill out ) I have only budgeted £100 for gas & electric . I pay CCCS £250 per month does anyone know what the min payment that CCCS will accept i dont want them to say i cant stay on the DMP .
I really dont know what to do i feel so worried again ,i feel like i am back to square one with my debts . Has anyone on here reduced there payments to there creditors and what was there reaction ? I think its going to mess everything up for me im not sure whether to just keep struggling .0 -
Hi tinkerbell12 we moved last year and we moved our fixed rate mortgage and although we did not wish to borrow extra funds we were credit checked but that was with Abbey don't know if all lenders do this. Must say we were not on a DMP althoug we did have a fair bit of debt.February 2013 NSD - 40

Longforthesun - thanks for this. No we also will want to borrow less (about £30,000) and have NEVER missed a payment on the mortgage. Also have a current account with this company so they could easily see that we are on a DMP if they looked carefully! Gonna ring them again in the morning and ask them to go ahead with it and keep fingers crossed I think!! Jan 2008-Paid 74% of debt as of MAR 2012 (DFD - APR 2014) DMP Support Thread Member 154  DFW Long Hauler 116:grin: Official DFW Nerd Club 928- Proud to be dealing with my debts :grin:0
