Carlos, I don't know about CCCS but I know Payplan say it has to be £100 plus.
Being on a DMP means being able to live with the money you have after paying the creditors so you need to re-do your budgets and offer them less a month. If you keep trying to struggle on it could end up that you can't afford to pay them at all, so you need a figure you can live comfortably with. Hopefully someone will be along soon who knows what the amount is for CCCS.*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0 -
PS there will be a lot of people having to reduce their payments to the creditors due to rising fuel/petrol bills, so don't worry x*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0

Hi everyone i am 7 months into my DMP and already struggling with my payments . I wish id have thought about the DMP when i first entered into it and put alittle extra on things . I have down for example £250 a month for food shopping for 2 adults 3 children i am finding it really hard to stick to this (what do you think a realistic budget for food should be for a family of 5 ? ).
Also i have got a really big gas bill from winter so my gas ,electric have gone up to £195 per month (this amount will be for the next 3 months just to even my bill out ) I have only budgeted £100 for gas & electric . I pay CCCS £250 per month does anyone know what the min payment that CCCS will accept i dont want them to say i cant stay on the DMP .
I really dont know what to do i feel so worried again ,i feel like i am back to square one with my debts . Has anyone on here reduced there payments to there creditors and what was there reaction ? I think its going to mess everything up for me im not sure whether to just keep struggling .
Stop fretting and call CCCS. Ask them for a review and ask them for updated figures they suggest for a household like yours.
Remember. CCCS are on your side.0 -
5 weeks ago I decided to contact National debtline over the debt I have managed to get myself into. Payday loans, catalogues, you name it I owed it. I have 10 creditors. National debtline passed me onto PayPlan. I filled out all of the forms, opened a new bank account and sent out letters to my creditors. At the time I owed 5789.24. My first payment id due to leave my bank account on the 24th of August and it'll be for 495.28 and It should have taken me 12 months or so to sort this all out.
Nothing seems to be happening- Just checked my justabank area and only 4 creditors have confirmed my balance. Is this normal?
So why am I so upset? I had a samedaycash loan for 800/ payment 1098 which I have defaulted on. I noticed the kept sending me emails claiming that I had defaulted and were charging me 40 pounds for doing this. I was told when I queried this that when PP contacted them interest would stop accruing. Tonight I received an email saying that "We have received correspondence from your Debt Management agency, however we have not accepted the proposal and interest will carry on accruing until a final payment has been made." The could be in excess of 4 0r 5 thousand by the end of the year. It means that by going on a DMP could end out in more debt by the end of it then I was in the beginning.
Can they do this to me? I'll never be out of debt again if they do? Do I have any options? Anyone been through this before?
I'm so upset and worried... I thought I'm made such a big step towards facing my problems and now it seems like I'm in an even bigger mess then I was in the first place

Hi dumb luck, I know this isn't exactly the best way to go about things but, is there any way you can borrow from a relative for that debt? What have Payplan advised? No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Evening
Ghosthunter I would take the £2000 and put it in an account where your creditors have no access. Stick it in an ISA etc. I know the vast majority of people live by this theory of "why have savings when you have debt" but you never know what is round the corner and it will be comforting to know that the money is there should your car or boiler give up the ghost or something. Oh and with regard to the charges and PPI claiming I would be inclined to get them all agreeing to the DMP before you do anything like that. I'm sure others have gone ahead at this stage but I didn't want to go upsetting them too early.
Carlos, take a deep breath. I'm sure this can be sorted. I have just checked and our budget food, toiletries and cleaning is £320. That is for 2 adults, 2 kids and a baby. In addition there is a £40 budget sitting for school meals. I pay CCCS £104 per month on about £27K of debt. The way things are going I am pretty sure that CCCS must be inundated with people seeking to rebudget. Send them an email now if you don't feel you can speak to them. That way you feel like you have done something. Propose a figure to them. They will know that the cost of food has gone up just like the rest of us.
Misspixie, I very much doubt that CCCS would allow you to add a debt which is in your mums name. I know this is naughty of me but could you increase other areas of the budget to allow you a bit of leeway to pay for this? If need be create a cat or dog or something. :rotfl:
Tinkerbell, good luck with the remortgage. I think I read on here once that they look at how you have performed with the mortgage rather than anything else.
Dumbluck, welcome to the forum. I'm sorry I don't know what to suggest on what is happening to you. Send a quick email to CCCS and see what they say. There has been some talk on these forums about this type of loan. The general advice has been to approach a local credit union. Apparently they have some arrangements in place to offer loans to get rid of sharks like these. I have no experience of this so can't advise.0 -
Thanks you for replying xx
PP haven't got back to me yet, I've emailed them about it and will call all day tomorrow. One of the two case workers are on holiday so they may not have picked up on SDC's rejection of he offer yet.
I can't ask for the money off family or friends- they've all helped me out before and as I've been paying back my parents 20000 I think they'd kill me for getting into trouble like this again :-( My friends don' have hat kind of money and if they did I wouldn't be able to ask for it.LBM June 2008 Debt at LB £6906.65 :eek:Payments to date-£2933.871 year to lose:j 20 pounds- September 2009 (9 so far) (Weight loss the old style way)"A life lived in fear, is a life half lived"0 -

Thanks for your reply your debt is a similar amount to mine ,i owe £26,000 just over £100 per month would be a more realistic figure for me too . I have just worked out my surplus and it is £105 per month to pay my creditors . Have your creditors all accepted your DMP ? Mine have all accepted but if i reduce mine by about £150 per month i cant imagine them being to happy as at the moment i am paying them £250.
I think it would have been different if i had been paying £105 right at the start but does everyone think it would be wise of me to try and reduce my DMP by so much ? I do think though whats the point of being on the DMP if im still struggling .0
