Chev, I'm so sorry to hear both these pieces of news. You're keeping a sense of proportion about it, but bloody hell, if I had to face a bill for £36k, I'd be feeling pretty desperate myself, even if it did come on the same day as news about my beloved sis. I'd be feeling completely knocked for six, actually.
Stay safe, and take care of yourself (thats coming from how I imagine I'd feel) :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I think that if any of us on here were facing a bill of that size, or even half that size, however much we might have been expecting it over the year, we would be feeling as low about it as you are.
So, you know that we are all thinking "there but for the grace......"
Sadly, we can't be more constructive. But we CAN ensure that, like you say, we all learn from this and check our policies etc. And we can keep our fingers crossed that the house is sold in an acceptable time frame and that the other side act reasonably throughout in order to give you time to pay.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Chev, my heart bleeds for you and your family. Stay strong, you can rise above all of this. Karma will address the balance soon (or I will kicks it's bloomin butt )Just keep swimming!0

Hey all
Thanks to all who sent hugs prayers and good wishes, they really ARE appreciated. In some ways the hardest part is not having friends over here who I can talk it through with. There are a couple of people who I am friendly with, but you can see their eyes start to glaze over......SIGH.
I haven't heard from my sis. Will send her an email later. Our phone STILL isn't working so I can't just phone her. And I am not sure what I would say anyway....Was bad enough dealing with this the last time (I didn't handle it well at all)....
As for the house well I am back on st johns wort and things feel a little calmer. I am doing things that need to be done (housework, sending off trademe parcels, making xmas presents, gardening in my new place) and will keep plodding.....
We technically have until feb to sell the house. Our current tenants have been quite keen to buy off us in the past, so our agent is going to actually suggest a price this time and see what they say. As I have a suspicion that the uk economy is going to go further down the toilet (sorry guys), it is probably no bad thing to sell, in case the price starts to drop again...
just got to get it done. the house is a mess of boxes, my mum comes out on friday, and there is no where currently for her to sleep!
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

That would be good news.As I have a suspicion that the uk economy is going to go further down the toilet (sorry guys),
Why are you sorry? If it's only into the toilet, then we will have got away lightly...just got to get it done. the house is a mess of boxes, my mum comes out on friday, and there is no where currently for her to sleep!
