    Hi Chev

Just read your thread to see how you are getting along.

Sorry to hear you are struggling a bit. Cut yourself some slack though! Moving is a big enough adjustment as it is, let alone when you move the furthest away you possibly can move (and with children), and when you have mammoth problems in the UK with your old house and the possibility of a court case to deal with too - wow! So don't be too hard on yourself, it does take a while to settle in, and the absence of friends will make it so much harder.

Where are you living in NZ? I still know a lot of people there (depending on where you are) who might be able to help.

    Rubbish about immigration too!

It's funny, I am sitting here, desperately wanting to be back living in NZ (and have done so since I've been back in the UK). I wonder if it is the grass is always greener syndrome! You WILL make friends, and overall the quality of life IS better (a cliche but true!), these are just hurdles you would overcome settling into anywhere new, although the stories of abuse would take a lot to swallow - but, things like that unfortunately happen everywhere you go.

I know what the depression side of things is like, so please PM me if you want to chat - and if you would like any UK comforts sending on, please let me know. (I missed Cadburys and drove my family nuts asking for it all the time... don't eat it so much here, haha!).

I hope you've had a nice Christmas though - I hear it has been hot. (I am so jealous!).

    xx

Hi guys. I haven't been on this for a while. I have decided I need somewhere to keep me on track with things a bit, so will write things to get them out of my system more than anything.

immigration actually sacked my case worker for incompetance. Just says it all really. It has also set my residency claim back ANOTHER 6 months. It is really really :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::eek::eek::eek::(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(!

Stil haven't found a job yet, and wondering about that. But my sitting room is actually fairly tidy at the moment. So will try and keep that up.

I have also accepted (NOT that i want to) that I will get no help round the house with housework, so am doing that when I want to. It has helped my mood that the kitchen is clear in the morning etc...

Memory Girl has got me thinking, and some of that has been uncomfortable to do.... so have been away from the boards a bit. Now dipping my toe back in.

Right off the do some knitting and read some diaries at the same time.

washing mountain is now a hillock so that is a result.

And another thing for you peeps going into winter. I have been amazed this winter by how effective one piece of clothing can be for keeping me warm! It is......*drum roll* opaque 70 denier tights. They were SO much warmer than my normal ones. It has meant that this year we haven't need to put on the sitting room heater at all, in the evening, and so have saved about $100 a month on our heating bills. Yippee!

Wol just because you asked a while ago, the house thing is strangely quiet. We have heard nothing for months. The last thing was along the lines of the cost for the repairs to next door would be circa 46k GBP. We asked for a detailed break down of the costs and nothing. So basically I am letting sleeping dogs lie!

As more time goes on, that some is less in real terms even if we have to pay it! Also found out the other day that our UK house is no where near in negative equity, even after the housing slump. In fact even if we asked well below the market rate, we would have enough to pay the mortgage back, and get back ourselves the original cost of the property :D.

Other news, DS1 went on a play date today YIPPEEE. Then just had DS2 having a strop for an hour or so because he wasn't invited. SIGH.

Seems to have gone well though, so a bit of progress there.

    Will update more tomorrow

You are getting through the list, but instead of rolling over from one day to another and feeling like it is never ending, how about having one list per week and working on it over the period of a few days?
