Essex....don't really want to say any more but the lowest I have found for a 3 bed place is £875 (but doesn't take pets). Prices are around the £950-£1200 ish mark. I know - it's an expensive area. Can't move far either as the kids are in school and neighbouring areas are just as pricey.

What would you expect to pay for a 3-bed property round your way?

really....it's not hard to understand :T

Our village is quite sought after.... but round here 3 bed would be about £700 MAX. We pay £306 a month with the housing association for a 2 bed house with garden... couldn't imagine paying £1000+ a month rent!

Whereabouts SS.....we do hope to keep below £1000 but we need to find somewhere fastish. Not going to panic buy, but we hope to exchange and complete around the end of the month....no pressure eh?

Sar....I've had a meeting with the lady from housing. We don't qualify for anything as our income is too much. The only thing she suggested was to register as homeless and they can put us up in a B&B.

We can afford the rent as I keep saying.....it's just that we don't have that sort of money at our disposal.

    Nevertheless she persisted.

    Sorry to wander off topic...
My other concern would be you've got 2 weeks... even if you got a normal loan would you recieve the funds and have them cleared in your account in time??

Sar - I know. I have been trying for a few weeks to think of something but everywhere is a dead end. We had hoped to sell our house for a bit more but we were lucky to get the offer we did (had it on for £275k and sold for £260k but left us with nothing).

Still, we should be rid of our huge mortgage and 2nd charge and that is worth a lot.
