g&b there is never a long enough gap IMO when little ones have to have surgery, bless her she's only little aswell. Saying that maybe she'll be recovered in enough time for school starting?

juliejim big hugs, that is VERY high! Changing habits of a lifetime has to be the worst point of diabetes, be prepared for moodies from your DH just incase he gets sick of watching everything he eats, being restricted/nagged etc we have a family full of them (yes that's another test GP has requested, again) and that has been the hardest thing, resistance to change. My Dad is the worst, he never looks after himself properly, he can't face breakfast which he's supposed to have, forgets his insulin etc etc he's a menace! I sometimes wonder who is the parent as I am forever having to nag him. Save that chocolate somewhere he can't see it for when he gets on your nerves :rotfl: They do say however that a parent being diagnosed can reduce a childs chance of developing diabetes as usually the whole family changes it's diet/lifestyle.

Well had some sort of good news, an elderly relative of DPs who gave up caravaning last year has some spare things for us. I did panic when he phoned especially with DPs Dad being away as this relative would only usually call in an emergency :o when he went silent on the phone I hit panic a bit. Don't you just hate it when people worry you like that :rotfl:

Recovered from near heart failure and sat here nearly falling asleep :o DSs still up so wouldn't dare even doze off, done bare minimum housework wise tonight, made dinner, filled DW and folded some laundry (I must nag DS2 to take his dinner plates out) Done a little studying then I started dozing whilst writing notes which resulted in me ending up with pen on my arm and face :o I've been lucky as looking where the pen is I could have caught my eye. DS2 says I'm 'nordy' (naughty) for drawing on myself :rotfl:

I'm thinking I should work on this assignment some more, but then the heads saying sleep, now, lots :o so will see how I feel once I have got the boys to bed, I might take the books to bed.
One day I might be more organised...........

JulieJ - hugs - but at least DH has a diagnosis and you can forward plan for it. I think it's your duty to eat the chocolate to save him from himself however hard a task that may be....

G&B hugs for you and your DD. I didn't realise she needed surgery

Lil- me - get thee hence to thy bed and sleep!

Well, I'm really pleased with myself - just finished the second cushion covering. It was much quicker because, having done the first, I knew exactly what to do this time. So, both new seat cushions are now on the little settee in the kitchen. I just need to cover the back. I shall do that at the weekend - it's a lot more fiddly...

Had a minor strop at DS and DiL. When I got home, DiL wasn't in and I asked DS if he was in tonight and did he want dinner? The reply was yes. DiL came home just after I'd put the stew in the oven and asked what was for dinner. I told her, asked her if she wanted some and she said no thanks. 15 minutes later, she comes through and says .. um.... we're going to order a chinese tonight so DS won't be wanting any dinner.

WHY DIDN'T HE TELL ME THAT BEFORE I PUT THE DAMN STEW IN THE OVEN? was my rant.

Never mind, half of it can freeze for another day. Or, I might just leave it in the fridge overnight and serve it up for him tomorrow night. But, at least I hadn't peeled the accompanying veg at that point..

  • Hello everyone -

Lil_me - glad you went to the doctor and they are doing the tests quickly.

Mum2many - glad no-one was hurt in the fire but the damage afterwards is horrible. DD1 was in the house on her own with the bf last year and left burgers under the grill while she and the bf were upstairs (I don't really want to think about what they were doing) and the grill went on fire and it spread really quickly. Luckily no-one was hurt but the rank smoke damage and smell afterwards was what galvanised me into action over sorting out clutter and so on.
Pigpen - the C&G sounds to be a better option to me.

Confused newbie - I would definitely do the nail tech course if you can.

gnb - ((hugs)) for your LO

juliejim - 18 is quite high, but hope he can get it under control.

Haven't done much flying today - will try harder tomorrow!

What would you study if you could - or would you rather not?

Well I have lots of thoughts lol. If I could, I'd like to go to Queen Margaret University and do the degree in Consumer Studies. I'm actually waiting on a call from one of the tutors to discuss entry. I already have an HND in Hotel, Catering and Institutional Mgt, so I could get 2nd or even 3rd year entry. I was originally thinking about becoming a Home Economics teacher, but having looked at the course, the world is my lobster (as Delboy was say) :D
But I wouldnt do it this year, I'm thinking about Sept 09 as all my debts will be paid, hopefully the house will be sold and my BF will have moved up here.

Here is the linky, someday I'll get someone to show me how to do the posh link :rotfl:

Or I was mooching around the OU. I did a course years ago and keep thinking about doing another one, probably Arts based :)

I was a good girl this afternoon and ironed the 2 loads of washing I did today plus a few of the "horrible" bits from the bottom of the basket - think there are only 5 bits left now:j .

Bit worried about DD2, picked her up from nursery let her in the house. I went to check the tumble dryer then went to find her, she had put herself into bed. She felt hot and had a bit of a temp. She spent the afternoon snuggled on the couch watching recorded "I'd do anything". Her temp seems ok now so will keep an eye on her:confused: .

Been and done the school induction thing and booked her a couple of taster visits. Also stopped and got petrol on the way home (first time I have done it solo) had a bit of a panic as couldnt get the cap undone, still not sure how I did it but got there in the end:rotfl: .

So washing/ironing situation back undercontrol (for now:rolleyes: ). So hopefully tomorrow I will catch up with the other stuff I should have done today:-

    Clean sofas
    Hoover under sofas
    Hoover through
Mop kitchen, bathroom and porch floors
Decide on outfit for interview on Friday
Clean girls and our bedroom windows (outside)
    Make lemon drizzle cake
    S & S Kitchen
    S & S Bathroom
    Book car in for service
    Clean decking

Am off for an early night, heres hoping I can fall asleep:rolleyes:

Just sending massive hugs to those who need them and big thanks to pigpen for taking the time to do the list but I'm knackered and I cant do it. Not sleeping well since OH's gone and I'm so tired so I WILL CLEAN the kitchen but I WILL NOT do anything else other than go to bed early. :o
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

lil_me - try to take things as easy as you can and nap through the days when the boys are at school. I always wondered how you managed on such a Margaret Thatcher-like sleep regime! Good news about the school :)

    M2M - scary stuff!! Glad everyone's safe

Juliej - you must eat the chocolate and of course share with all your very good flylady friends ;)

G&B - when about in July?

Mudbath - think I'd be a bit annoyed at correspondence lying around for anyone to read. Its not acceptable or appropriate.

 and hugs to everyone xx
