Congratulations Lucifa!
Sooooo jealous right now!0 -
Lucifa- many congrats - take it easy - it takes 9 months to cook a babe so don't try and do everything all at once.
Lil-me / Polly Glandular fever can come back. My DD had a serious bout when she was about 14. The acute phase subsided within about 2 weeks but it took about 3 months before she was back to normal. Then a year later, she went down with the symptoms again - but on a slightly reduced level. Blood tests confirmed it was GF again. In the end, it took about 5 years for her be able to cope with a 'normal' cold without going all lethargic, achy and ill again. I think the virus lies dormant once you have it and can flare up again at any time. If I recall correctly, that's one of the things they refuse to let you donate blood over - even if you had it years ago...simply because it can still be there. But, I'm an amateur, I'm not qualified - get thee hence, once again, to the Doctor...
And LizzieD - you said: Am really tired though and stink of smoke from lighting fires with Beavers
I did a double take over that and wondered first off how you caught the beavers - is there a river and have they made a dam near you and how did you prep them to light the fire - dip their muzzles in petrol first?? Then I remembered pre-scout age young people are called beavers... :rotfl:
Well, I've done the first cushion on the little settee. My plan is to have the second done over the next two nights and then concentrate on doing the frame over the weekend.
Sleep well ladies.
I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

I got up about 6:15pm.. he had nipped to shop and bought me flowers and cooked dinner .. we've watched Dr Who.. wasn't it !!!! this week.. next weeks HAS to be better!! Did someone say desperate housewives is on this week again?and Reaper??
I have DD3 at pi$$y clinic in the morning.. MUST remember this time.. and I need to get her an appointment with the GP.. for her meds.. they are like rocking horse poop!
Thursday I am disappearing up my own derriere and Friday I have invited myself to the assembly at school.. it is at 10am and there is a lady of 74 who has written 3 books.. her first was a local best seller in Waterstones. Her new book is about her experiences at primary school.. our primary school so as I governor I invited myself to meet her.. sounds fabulous.. have to hope I am out of my nail appointment in time.. it is only a respray so I should be..
Hubby can do the packed lunches and I'll go find some uniforms.. oh I have a few ebay things to package up as well .. must get those off tomorrow.
I have almost finished my curtains now eventually.. just the heading tape to stitch to one and then they'll both need hemming once the pole is up and I can hang them. I'll add pics once I get the room decorated!
Decision.. do I.. continue with the uncreditted dressmaking or do the City and Guilds one which is the same price but a different time.. and it will be a different tutor at the time I can manage?????? It is more structured which I do do better with.. I am not very decisive when it comes to new projects... This will be in addition to the course I have applied for (foundation in science degree)LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Congratulations Lucifa!!
Haven't done much this evening except talk on the phone for hours to my friend, planning her DS's 18th birthday party for Thursday. It's my DD1's 18th on Sunday, but she has been such a pain lately that I haven't done anything for it yet. She doesn't want to go out for a meal with the family (because we are all freaks who get on her nerves) and she doesn't want a party because that is just for saddos - what she wants is a car and that is just just so not going to happen. Her Dad (ex DH - the philandering fireman) has said that he isn't going to get her anything because she has been so difficult.
I know that I need to do the bedrooms tomorrow but I just can't face it as they are so messy - I think I will just try with levels 1 and 2 and fill a couple of bin bags with charity shop/car boot stuff.
I bought some proper ground coffee today and I had forgotten how much nicer than instant it is - have just had another cup but will have to ration it from now on so that it lasts.
Sorry, forgot to say - lil_me - good luck at the GP tomorrow. Could you be anaemic? When I had anaemia I had all kinds of aches and pains and the slightest effort had me exhausted and I fell asleep all the time.Jane

I think I've read that some people can get chronic fatigue after having glandular fever and I wondered if there was a connection for lil_me0 -
Pigpen - Reaper is on tonight at 11.05, I'm taping it to watch at the weekend. I think I read somewhere that Desperate Housewives is back at the end of the summer, there is a gap because of the writers strike. Not sure when though.0
