    hello everyone,
I just thought I'd say hi. My neighbour and I are new to scrapbooking and just getting to grips with stuff (and spending a fortune!!). Loving reading about all your projects.
If anyone is in Sheffield (Stannington/Hillsbro) area and has reccomendations for shops and classes I'd really appreciate hearing about them.
hope to see you all around.
    Love Caroline

rainmac - thanks for the link..........have a proper look tomorrow.
Might get around to sticking the papers in the album for mums photos this weekend.
Have printed out a load of music quotes for my other sons little board book. Didn't colour the paper with coffee this time.........last time I did it the print all got smudged -think I'd rubbed too hard. So, this time I got my water colours out and coloured the paper that way. Looks okay and least the printing can be seen

    Hello

I'm a Sheffielder and can recommend a place at Loxley Bottom (nr the Yew Tree Pub) called the craft den.

I went to a scrapbooking crop/class there last week and it was great. They do other classes too.

Have a look at the website

    www.craftden.co.uk

and heres a linky to my blog to show what we did in the class. There's also a link to Lynne (the owners) blog on there too

    http://teabagscraftybits.blogspot.com/

Craftastic which is next to the library entrance to Hillsborough park is good for embellishments and the like but they don't have a huge supply of papers. They also do classes but I've never been to one (yet) the ladies in there are really friendly. I normally get an offer if a cup of tea when I pop in for a mooch around.

Finally, there is a small place in the arcade at the barracks near Morrisons. I think it mught be called art house but don't quote me on that. Again she does classes but I'm unsure whether any of them are scrapbooking ones.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks so much Dawn. I've been in the one near the library (in fact went today - I'm getting obssessed!) and yes, I got offered tea! they're very friendly. I'll check out craftden, is it on Malin bridge? My neighbour went looking for it and couldn't find it, hope I have more luck tomorrow. I'll also have to check out the one in the barracks.
Maybe I'll see you at a class sometime. I think craftden has a thursday class I was hoping to sign up to.

It is tricky to find as the signage isn't great. from Malin Bridge you go round the one way up to the Yew Tree and then lft up Loxley Road. It's a converted bungalow on the left hand side really close to the Yew Tree junction.

Give Lynne a ring if you're unsure - she's really friendly! (I got tea there too! and a biscuit!)

I cant make the evening classes as I'm a single parent and stuck in the house of an evening but I may see you around!

Just remembered, there's also a little craft shop in the shops at Crosspool. They do classes too but most of there stuff seemed to be cardmaing

And of course there's which craft down near Brammall lane but that's a bit too warehousy for my liking and I find it difficult to find what I want.

Thanks dawn. I'll see if I can spot it! I'll take Lynne's number in case.
Shame you can't do evening classes. Me and my neighbour (and occasionally others) have craft evenings and get together to play with our stash and share our craft books. I did scrapbooking last time, but other times we've done paper mache or glove and sock animals, what ever new book someone has bought. it's great to get together.
maybe you could join us sometime. how big is your little one? (ie is she a portable baby!!!) :)
