Hi
Last night my local petrol station had no petrol or diesel. We went for a curry in the nearest town and the petrol station was actually shut at 8pm as was the station in the next village.
The wierd thing is there aren't any Shell stations around here.So people must have been panic buying. I have an 8th of a tank which won't last me long:rolleyes: .
Shell supply to lots of petrol stations, not just Shell.
Hubbys a cab driver in London. He said hes glad he filled up yesterday, as everywhere he has noticed today in London is out of diesel.0 -

i went round to my parents last night to check on the veg patch and pick anything that needed it, while they are away. on my way there is a shell garage on a main road and the traffic was at a standstill with cars all over the place queueing to get in (here we go again i thought) 2 mins drive down the road is another petrol station (on the same main road) they had signs up saying they had plenty of petrol/desiel but only one person was filling up. i think people see a queue at a petrol station (in the present circumstances) and join it out of panic!! all those drivers queueing at the shell garage must have felt pig sick when the passed the other garage just over a mile down the road.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

We are off on holiday tomorrow - got a full tank and its 250 miles down to Cornwall - just got to hope we can get petrol to come home the weekend after. Garages round us were OK lunch time but started showing empty this evening.
Guess we can always come home by train/coach and pick the car and camping gear up another weekend when it all ends.I'm stressed enough over this - please don't add to it.:eek:0 -

I holidayed in Cornwall when there was a petrol scare/strike in 2006. I went to fill the car up on our way back from an attraction to find queues of cars queuing for petrol. I asked a man in front what was going on (I don't read the papers or watch the news on holiday) and he told me it was the petrol scare/strike. Got the car filled up and thought about the potential problem at the end of the holiday - driving home from Hayle to Kent - in my car one tank is impossible.
But happily most people queued for petrol at petrol stations in the town centres and near the main roads, but the rural petrol stations had plenty of fuel and never ran out.The man without a signature.0 -

Agree they earn a good wage the tanker drivers, though they are also doing it for the general public and hauler business's as before long we will be paying over 150 a litre for diesel and this is totally out of order and remember it is the goverment that add the VAT etc to the price and down to them to do soemthing about it
No queue's up here and we stay near the Striking depot(actually where shell are striking outside BP petro chemical plant)
People need to calm down and get a grip or there will be a shortageJust back into comping past few months to help me get over rubbish in life.... won Hotpoint fridge freezer, soda stream0 -
Once again I filled up at Tesco's in South Wales.
No queues.0
