  • Hi all,

I wanted to use lamb for lasagne instead of beef, but couldn't find many recipes so i was wondering if it does actually taste ok using lamb?

    Thanks x
  • Lamb Lasagna recipe I'm sure your usual lasagne recipe will do fine though. I used some pork mince the last time I did a lasagne and that was fine.

Morrisons seems to be the only place I can find wholewheat lasagne though.

    Hi Sarah,

Lamb is great in lasagne and it's possibly more tasty than beef. It can be a bit fatty though, so if you can, dry fry the mince and then skim off some of the fat before adding the rest of the ingredients.

my mum perfers lamb mince. and uses it the same way she does beef mince. so can't see any prob's.

she make a gorgeous greek shepards pie with lamb mince. it has layers of rice and all sorts in it. really scrummy.
  • If you didn't want to do lamb lasagne, you could always do moussaka.

As an Italian, I can say that any mince meat is suitable for lasagne, although traditionally it's beef.

Oh, jcr16 - the Greek sheperds' pie is a moussaka: delicious!

    :)
