    Hi,
if you go to www.britishcornershop.co.uk they provide UK tv around the world, not sure how much it costs but they were offering a free 7 day trial.
    TheGiggsLady

    55 Quid a month, and £140 setup.

And it's Freeview, through a slingbox, over your broadband.

They don't do free trials any more.

You'd have to be pretty desperate to pay £55 a month for freeview, never mind the £140 setup. Then there's the £140 a year for your TV license.

£940 for a year's freeview. I appreciate the costs involved in setting something like this up, but that's horrendous.
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it

Zattoo - http://www.zattoo.com is a very cool piece of free software that lets you watch live TV over the Internet for free. It seems to be country sensitive - my German colleague sees a different channel list to me - but I don't know how it works in other countries. I'm in Denver from Saturday for a week so I'll find out.

Zattoo is restricted so you can only watch across borders if the broadcaster has given permission. It also needs a big fat bandwidth.

I am unaware of the constraints on the BBC to operate this policy, but I wonder why it does not apply to BBC radio?
There are a lot of people around the world that would happily pay the licence fee. Then too we would not need our 2.4 metre (yes almost 8 feet!) satellite dishes to get the BBC TV

In the UK you don't need a licence to listen to BBC Radio and programmes on uk radio are generally not sold on mash abroad.

BBC can't be seen to give freebees to system that the tv licence payer pays for, also they don't own alot of the tv rights to show outside the uk.

I'm a few thousand would happily pay to use the service, but BBC worldwide get alot more in selling to other countries in partnership with the content owners

consult-here does not deign to tell where the VPN will be based (the most critical info of all) before asking for your money. Not UK based = no iPlayer content.

The above might just possible be a tinned form of luncheon meat.

Someone asked this awhile ago, and I posted complete instructions for setting up your proxy in Firefox using Foxy Proxy. I watch BBC iPlayer from the US all the time.

However, the thread vanished into thin air, and I imagine this one will as soon as a mod sees it, so there's not really much point discussing it.
  • not sure what you mean by luncheon meat. but i live in asia . yes, i pay for consult here vpn service, since like i said i tried many free services and none of them worked. i got instrcutions on how to set up vpn for UK or usa , once i paid, and i am watching or rather saving programes from iplayer on a daily basis.
