You're kidding aren't you? It was great. Fantastic music, free parties, gigantic raves, great drugs, squatting rights, new age travellers, social cohesion. Have you never danced in a Wiltshire field at 5am with the sun rising over the hills?

I feel sorry for you as you obviously missed out.

Um no. I was busy keeping my business alive to pay the mortgage and keeping my employees in a job. Then again the 70`s were when I did similar to you.

It'd be simple to turn around the fortunes of Carphone Warehouse.

Simply offer a broadband deal with no contract.

Everybody's renting these days, or on the market.... meaning nobody wants to commit to a contract when they're not sure how long they'll be where they are.

Create a no contract product and people would sign up to it.

Hang the marketing/advertising off "life's uncertain" "uncertain times" and how safe you can be with CW that you aren't going to be tied into something.

Most people stick with a supplier if there's no reason to change, so people would move CW with them as they move about.

As a renter on a 6 month AST it's a pain in the bum that everybody wants you to sign 12 and 18 month contracts for phones/BB etc.

Nobody likes commitment in uncertain climates.

    Solved.

    Why not plusnet-28 day contract.
This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !

come on Zammo think about what you are actually saying here!

Now i know you were NOT old enough to really know the last recession - your quotes about drugs, sqatting rights etc mirror exactly the thoughts of my current teenage students views of the early 90's - in fact a lot of your comments reflect the typical retorts of someone in their late teens/early 20,s . Not being rude just stating an honest opinion.

Also you dont seem worried about the rising fuel prices, food prices and possible redundancies? Also remember that mortgage interest rates are going up and criteria/ltv,s are getting very much tighter which unless you can afford to buy a house outright will definatly affect you. even if houses do drop 50% not many will have enough to buy outright and remember not everyone will have to sell - many will just sit tight as I and all my friends did then.

I dont have any worries as I str in March and my job gets better in a recession as more people return to education but I dont wish a crash like you because falling house prices is a tiny, tiny bonus compared to the implications of a full on recession.

Zammo sit back and think about it for a while - what is the point of houses being 50% cheaper if you get made unempoyed or cant find a job with a decent wage? social housing will get used up with familys who have been made homeless, rates will rise, unemployment will rise and probobly crime with growing discontent.

I only say 50% cheaper as a estimation and full expect to recieve a childish retort which will of course prove my point about your age further.
