Carphone Warehouse falls victim to housing slump

I really don't see that much difference between zammo and the greedy HPI toads on this very board having a go at him.
Clearly if you are wanting houses to increase or not to fall to a realistic level then you don't care about those poor people who can't afford a home to live in or have to work two jobs to make ends meet.
``I couldn't give a toss about the "innocents".
If by innocents you mean those fools who borrowed hugh sums of cash at 100% loans, regardless of warnings given to them on the news, in papers, by friends and family, then I agree.
Or how about the innocents who have hugely geared property empires?
A controlled recession could potentially be a good thing for the UK, especially if house prices goes down.0 -

What about the innocents that are not interested in buying a house?
What about the innocents that do own a house, but have borrowed sensibly?
What about the innocents that have zero or minimal debt?
A recession with hit EVERYONE
It does Zammo no favours when he wishes innocent people to lose their jobs and are forced to sell - he has only one goal - and that is to pick up a cheap house regardless if other's have to suffer for it. Strange, cause he was very close to buying himself only 6 months back.0 -

No an uncontrolled recession can cause people to suffer, but a controlled recession is sometimes good. For instance to stop high inflation (which will lead to much more suffering), or to stop everyone funding growth with mounting debt.
High interest rates will not make those people how borrowed sensibly or have no debt, but high interest rates are certainly a sign (cause) of recession. Employment can still remain high in a recession if it is controlled.
Simply saying a recession is bad is wrong!
Whilst I don't agree with Zammos attitude I do think that it is understandable, he is probably the same generation as myself, whilst we could not buy we ie in school/uni, first few jobs, we watch house prices increase. When we should be at the stage of life where are parents purchased houses, they become out of reach.
His first priority is to look after himself and his own family, same as all those hoping for high prices do.0 -
Be warned, you're messing with the bigger boys in this thread, are you sure you want that?
BTW, are you an hermaphrodite?
You are a hypocrite...pity for you there's no white flag emoticon.
As for your second comment, I have a split personality.Don't believe everything you think.
Blessed are the cracked...for they are the ones who let in the light. A x0 -

The wider economy is now being affected by the crash.
Really....never thought of that!!!:eek:0 -
I couldn't give a toss about the "innocents". And if you're honest nor could you.
It's every man for himself. And I am ready to rise to the challenge.
Are you?
Don't entirely disagree with you.
However have you considered children caught up with their parents problems?
What about the elderly, who have lived within their means, but now on a fixed income, are suffering huge price increases for the basics. By basics I mean food, heating etc.0 -

Actually I do care about the 'innocents'
I have made a great deal of money in Property over the last 12 years. I have however been trying to warn of an 'imminent disaster' for the last three. I've been banging on how Property is grossly overvalued and trying to warn people particulary FTB's) to rent and wait. Most have ignored me, and some dismissed my warnings as madness, as Property can only go up:rolleyes:
Why have I done this? Because I hate to think of people struggling for a foothold on the property ladder finding they've been taken in by a Ponzi scheme.
I rarely agree with the likes of Broderick and Pickles, but this time I endorse their comments 100%!0 -
Snoopy78, please enlighten us on what a ``controlled`` recession is. Not ever seen one myself.0

Zammo isn't too bad he just hets a tad over-zealous at times..
Yeah that's a Firefox thing, it does it when I write posts using a text editor and paste it across. I was feeling a bit demob happy (I've got a week off next week - am going to France) and so posted from work which I don't do often.
Zammo's a BNP supporter IIRC. If there's one thing that's worse than a common or garden socialist it's a fascist. They're the worst kind of socialists as they're not even honest about it. I can't be bothered to argue with fascists, I oppose their every stance and let them condemn themselves with their own words. Life's too short to enter debate with idiots like that.0
