Zammo's a BNP supporter IIRC. If there's one thing that's worse than a common or garden socialist it's a fascist. They're the worst kind of socialists as they're not even honest about it. I can't be bothered to argue with fascists, I oppose their every stance and let them condemn themselves with their own words. Life's too short to enter debate with idiots like that.

I agree, fascists bring out the worst in me as well.

Hope you have a great time in France! By the way, if you want great food in England, you could always try the Isles of Scilly, Tresco or Bryher in particular.

Interesting, thanks. I've eaten very badly in Cornwall despite the county having some great produce. I'd always lumped the Isles of Scilly in the same basket, perhaps I shouldn't.

Australia has a similar problem - great produce, lousy cooks for the most part.

Snoopy78, please enlighten us on what a ``controlled`` recession is. Not ever seen one myself.

A controlled recession is were the government (or in our case the bank of England) recognise that the markets need to be slowed down. Usually to put a stop to rising inflation, but it can be to stop debt lead and consumer lead growth.

Japan used post WW2 (if I remember my history) it a lot to protect its national industries, in the past. A controlled recession is any time the government uses techniques that slow the economy down in order to achieve and objective, usually to stop an uncontrolled recession.

You enlightened enough yet? or should I go on?

Recessions are a great way of trimming down companys, and market allowing them to become more successful when growth returns. It usually increase innovation, cost savings through out all areas of a business.

Still, a recession will be bad, controlled or otherwise.

I quite enjoyed the recession of the early 90's. There was some great music borne out of it, plus houses were cheap.

Zammo, I can`t remember anyone enjoying the 90`s recession. Oh yea, that`s right, lost jobs, failed businesses, broken families, repossesions. Yep, you are right, bring it on!

Zammo I kinda repect your honesty.

Reality TV shows might be nonsense to some but I see them as a window on how Humans REALLY process the world, a window we dont get to view in real life as people hide thier true feelings.

Such TV Human zoos show the true trechary in most of us. For example Jerrmaine Jackson (that humble man of religion) referred to Jade Goody as 'white trash' several times when he thought the camer's weren't watching - I bet he would never own up to that in real life or on a discussion forum.

So before we all cast out Zammo, lets not forget all those false people in life that one minute are 'close freinds' but that soon fall away when they change jobs!

Lets not forget the many parents that have no contact with thier kids out of choice, yet somehow are able to rationalise they have close freindships! If you dont want to see your own precious kids, mere freindships mean nowt - they are even more fragile.

You're kidding aren't you? It was great. Fantastic music, free parties, gigantic raves, great drugs, squatting rights, new age travellers, social cohesion. Have you never danced in a Wiltshire field at 5am with the sun rising over the hills?

I feel sorry for you as you obviously missed out.
