  • Can I come too, date permitting? I love York and haven't been for years! Would have to be an overnighter for me, as live NE Scotland. March would be good for me.

The weather can be (is!) crap in any month! When is Easter next year (cos there's school hols). Also leaving it until May would make it in between school hols and May bank holiday so could put people off (?) or make it more difficult.

OK then, it looks so far that York is the best acceptable option, we could do worse than that, as it is a lovely town!

Would anyone in the area try and make some contact and a provisional booking (with budget) for however many of us who have responded yet?

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

ooh, hope everyone else ok with that, wouldn't want to spoil it for rest of you, but wouldn't want to miss out either. ;D
  • The Micklegate hostel looks nice, the other one looks like a prison!  :D

    Tee Hee Hee!

'the other one' is actually Clifford's Tower...one of York's ancient monuments...love the idea of it as a youth hostel...might be a bit draughty tho!

(sorry Fran! it wasn't exactly clear)
    Nice to save.
