Tis I, How nice to be missed. I bobby between the East Mids and the East Coast and I only have internet access at one home so I often go awol. I have two washing machines at one house and none at the other (how mad is that:rolleyes: ) so I've only just surfaced after the European laundry mountain colapsed on me last Sunday night. It wasn't until they ran out of HM yoghurt and they twigged on that the BM was suspiciously cool that anyone thought to look for me! so it's nice to know I've been missed on Ol'Style. Off to Tesco now - oh what a heady life I lead:D

  • I am soaked to the bones never mind the skin - I wish people wouldn't break the glass at bus shelters. Good thing there is a microwave here at work to heat up my chicken noodle soup experiment. I refuse to be ill this weekend - we're going up to Derby to a ball for a friend's daughter's 18th. Good thing it's payday on friday.

Poledancing was fun last night but it shows up just how poor my flexibility is - no way can i climb a pole & slide down into the splits.

    Pole dancing?!?!

Good grief whatever next. :rotfl: Better not let my OH see this thread, he'll be trying to tell me it's a necesarry part of OS and I need to learn too.......

There is no way I could do the splits, I can't even get up off the floor without help :rotfl: , and those platform shoes....I'd get vertigo.
It does sound like fun though. Very liberating I bet:T

Ebay parcels are gone at last - I had a major panick before with lots of swearing (good job DD wasn't here! ) when I couldn't find one of the items that had sold  Remember the other week I sorted out all the items into groups as I was photographing them so I could list like items together? Well somehow I had managed to put this particular item in the wrong box :o:rolleyes: I've double checked the rest of the boxes and all is okay.

Just had 2 pies from the local bakery for my late lunch/early tea as a treat since I worked so hard yesterday and OH & DD won't be in for tea ;) I think that justifies it.... for me anyway :p:rotfl:

Going to spend some time playing games on Neopets now for half an hour or so :shhh:

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

    Hello

Back from mum's, where her house is sparkly and clean :) DS's have been a godsend and mum now has the cleanest wardrobe doors, dressing table legs and backs of mirrors around :rotfl: However, they were also very useful when cleaning the "skating boards" - meant I didn't have to bend down to do them :D

Mr TM must want something - he tells me he has done some cleaning  Well, the floors are vac'd so mus tbe suitably grateful. (He's not getting 'anything' tho' :D) Downside to going to mum's was she cooked lunch - which included those potatoe waffles, which she fried in about 3/4 pint of oil! Add to that fried sausages, fried chop and beans and after 2 spoons of Gaviscon my stomach's still bad. AND I refused to eat more than 1/2 a waffle :)

Been to pick my lamb up. Haven't investigated exactly what I have, but the whole lot came to £57.99 to which I added 6 jumbo eggs and paid the man £58.50. Right result, I say - he's also left me all the bones so I can make some nice stock too.

For whoever was asking, the pitahaya was OK. Had it with my ice-cream last night and it was very kiwi-like although a lot milder. It would apparently have been better cold as this intensifies the flavour. They've gone back up to £1.49 each now so I didn't buy another one.

OK, off to sort and freeze my lamb and then I'll start on the glossing...

I managed to re-sell an item from ebay that had sold once, but the buyer never paid me. At last someone has bought it - after I relisted - and for more money than before :D (and payment has been received!) Hurrah! I'm just about to pack it up, ready for me to post it tomorrow.

I went to the cinema this afternoon too to see "Pride and Prejudice". I didn't know how anyone could improve or come even slightly close to the quality of the BBC version of 10years  (where have all those years gone?) ago, but it was excellent. OH will be pleased that I've seen it as he was refusing to go with me. Ah well, at least my friend and I could drool on our own :D

    Hello Old Stylers,

Queenie, I'm so glad you had the genius idea of starting a daily thread in the first place, I can't go a day without reading what you've all been up to, even if I don't always have anything OS to be able to post myself. I find you all so inspiring and you give me loads of ideas.

Today was a normal work day....did a computer test this morning and passed it which is good. This morning I put the SC on with last week's new creation- quorn sausages, tinned chopped toms and a tin of mixed beans with a few spices. OH will be happy as he loved it last week.

Caught up with most housework on Sunday, all hoovering, dusting etc. I'm pleased that I'm managing without a tumble dryer- I do all our washing at the weekend, normally is 3 machine loads for the 2 of us, and I've started washing one load Friday when I get home from work, hanging it on the airer when its done, standing the airer outside for a short while Sat morning if its dry and windy, then its normally dry early afternoon so I do and hang another lot out... I'm quite pleased with myself as lots of my friends were horrified when I said our house can't fit a tumble dryer in and they thought we'd never manage. It's just the bedding I have to take to Mum's.

I was happy yesterday as I've lost another 2lb this week, getting slowly back to my target sice gaining a bit on holiday. Only 4 and a half pounds to go until perfect target so I must be strong and disciplined when near chocolate!

    What yucky weather!
I keep looking out of the window expecting the PVC greehouses to have blown away. The fence at the bottom of our garden has given way again, this time into the owners garden though, not into ours.OH had to sure it up on our side a while ago as it was dangerous.
Went into town today to get some more DVD R discs and found packs of 4 in poundland.OH has got a DVD writer for his Mac, which was being thrown away at his work as it only writes one kind and no RW at all(one mans rubbish,is another mans treasure).
OH has been to visit his dad in hospital as he had another fall and broke his hip.We dont live anywhere near him.Its the 2nd hip breakage he has had.
Luckily BIL lives much nearer and can get in to see him everyday and hopefully keep an eye on him when he goes home again.FIL is very neglectful of himself and hardly eats anything and is becoming quite forgetful.
We had liver and bacon for tea with lambs liver as they didnt have pigs liver in Asda this week.DS prefers the latter,so do I! After being overcharged for reduced mushrooms last time we bought some this week and were only charged 17p a bag.

The film was brilliant-well worth seeing it :D It wasnt Bexleyheath-we went over tp Thurrock as DD needed some boots and I had some vouchers for Tescos and managed to get them and a few other bits too.
Ive had a great day but feel lousy but sooooo glad I got out.
    See you all tomorrow.
