Hi all,
Popping in on lunch break - I'm working from home today. I have to write 2 exam papers by the end of tomorrow and it's easier here. Very glad of it too since it looks horrible out there & the reports of crappy tube lines.
My eBay CD auctions finish soon & look to be doing ok - just hope it stays dry when i walk the 2 miles to the post office tomorrowStill wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0 -
a'noon all,
We've been down the shops this morning as DS forgot to take his key so will need to be let in in about an hour.
I finally had to give in and buy some potting compost:mad: .I've been sowing my seeds in ordinary mud but the cabbage seedlings just dont like it so kept expiring, had to tell myself it isnt saving money if the seeds are being wasted is it? Turned out potting compost was only £1.29 for a nice sized bag anyway!
I bought a pair of big green leaf picker uppers as picking up leaves yesterday by hand was not very nice(we have a lot of cats and resulting cat mess everywhere in this area). The shop assistant tried to charge me twice as she thought the price was per 'hand' but luckily I noticed her ring them up twice.
DD is not happy today as she was invited to a friends for the 1/2 term hols but we said she couldn't go as its over 300 miles away and we didn't want her travelling on her own by train. It would have meant a 600 mile drive twice for the lucky chauffer(me).DS's EMA form came this morning and she was very interested to know he will be paid for going to his 6th form college for 2 years,(She is probably going next year)so that cheared her up.
We have Macbeth to read later(she loves evil lady Macbeth).

Im back :j :j :j
Didnt have to have tooth yanked-but needed a root canal and a couple of fillings. Dentist was fantastic and explained everything in detail to me-he was a sweetie! Apparently, because of the Lupus and some medication Im on, I am more prone to have calcium problems so need to visit the dentist every 4 months  but he was nice so I think I can do that.
I am so glad its over. Thank you all so much for your best wishes. Im off to take a super duper pain killer and have a sleep.

hoorah!!! Good news PP - that's cheered me up no end, nice to know somebody's day's turning out nicer than they expected. :beer:I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle0

Have you never seen how far it can fly when a wet muddy dog stands there and shakes himself
Great news about the tooth PP, glad it went so well for you :T
Well, chicken is now in slow cooker, as per the recipe I posted on the slow-cooker recipe thread... smells divine and my tummy is rumbling so I think I'll go have a bowl of muesli to ward off the hunger pangs for a few hours
