Nightmare of a train journey this morning, no northern line, so had to walk for two stops (two miles I think), and then wait for about a million trains before I could get on one. Get to Victoria to hear the underground is closed due to "overcrowing", grrrrrr!! Just hope its all ok this evening for getting home....

Feel suprisingly well today, managed the gym twice yesterday, AM cardio workout and PM Bodypump class (late though at 8pm), felt fab afterwards, just need to keep it up, want to be thin thin thin....

Roasted BNS & Onion Soup for tea tonight (I think ive perfected it now, after the watery soup disaster a while ago!!), and lunch with me today so should spend no ££££££££££.

2 weeks today & my debt will be gone, its very exciting, I just want it over & done with now.

    Have a nice day xx

Desparately need to get the house work done today as my health visitor is coming tommorow _pale_ she is lovely, but would die of shock at the state of the flat.

Morning everyone :hello: (it is still morning isn't it?)

Good luck at the dentist PP, although I should imagine you're sat in the chair at this very moment  <shudders> ... fingers crossed it all goes well for you :)

Charlotte, you've just reminded me why it would be a bad idea to get another dog  ... I remember the muddy paws, floors, walls, carpets, bedding, sofas etc extremely well ;) ... funny how all these things slip your mind when you see that lovely cute face and want to take them home with you  ... but you've also convinced me that it would be a good idea to have all downstairs floor laminated rather than carpeted ... just in case! :D

And on reading the posts from those of you with under 5's, I totally sympathise with you! When I read of your struggles, I am just sooooo glad my boys are now grown up and long past that stage  ... I really don't think I could cope having little 'uns around again and I'm hoping and praying that none of my boys present me with a grandchild any time soon :rotfl:

Right so what to do today  ... well getting myself to bed at a reasonable hour instead of 2/3am in the morning would be a good start, as getting up at 9/10am means I've lost half the morning and by the time I've showered, had coffee and read MSE it's lunch time

I forgot to get food out for the snakes to defrost yesterday, so come 8pm there were lots of little (and some big!) hungry faces staring at me wondering where dinner was  ... so I now have a selection of mice and rats thawing out for tonight, and I was meant to be putting a chicken in the slow cooker this morning so will have to get a move on and do that pretty soon or we'll be eating at midnight too

I've got stuff running out of date in the fridge that I haven't got around to using yet (failed miserably on my meal planning last week :o ) so need to do something with that too ... (actually threw out 2 rashers of bacon this morning  ) ... but this is getting very close to the point where I start to feel overwhelmed with everything and end up doing nothing at all :wall: :o

One more :coffee: I think then I'll make a start ;)

    Hello

Had a day off yesterday which I really needed, but still not feeling great.

Loved not being at work - maybe time to move on in career to get the love back?

Don't know just don't feel like I belong at the station I'm at anymore. Don't really seem to get on with anybody

    But enough of my ranting.

    Hope everyone's ok

    Moooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrnnnnnnnnnnnning.........

We have had a profitable but expensive morning........... first the phone call, not a new flat, but some questions answered and arrangements being made for us to view a second choice and guess what they have 2 bedroomed flats.........occasionally I have very bad nights and have to sleep in our second bedroom so I do not disturb OH ........ was a little worried about giving up the 2nd bedroom which also serves as my sewing room............ well we will see.

We went to look at an allotment........... a small one, OH loves growing things and moving to a flat I do not think window boxes, if we were allowed them would suffice.....we get the first year free as it needs digging over..... no problem hire a rotovator....... but no shed, have just been to B & Q and bought one......got 15% off, did think about a second hand one, but decided it might be false economy and we can always sell it on, bought a 7 x 5 so we have room to sit in it, plan to spend time together there, so a little gas ring will be handy, going to ask the kids to buy us one for Christmas...... good eh...... think of all that home grown veg. ...... We have had an allotment before, but it was so big we had to let half the stuff rot, this time we are only going to grow what we can eat..... no longer have the huge freezer either.....

Off to Tesco this afternoon, time for my top up shop....... doing quite well this month, also have an offer of a house in France for 2 weeks over Christmas.........cheap crossing..... cheap motel first and last night...... 2 weeks in France minding a dog, two cats and the house.... not bad me thinks, might cost us around £250 with fuel.......could be raiding the holiday fund.......

One thing at a time - and do yourself deals - "If I do "this" job then I get ten minutes on MSE before the next one..." It works for me when things start looking like too much. Find your own way to do deals and rewards with yourself :)

How did the housing list stuff go yesterday? Any progress?

    Thanks everyone!

I was just so angry this morning when DD1 left the door open when the dog had already been through the house once, just made matters worse.

There was a massive consellation prize - hubby yelling in the bathroom at the dog "NO" "GET DOWN" and the happy splashing sounds and loud bangs on floor where he fell over once or twice. Brought the giggles back fast.

Nearly clean now. Dog is white again, curtains hanging up drying. Dog bedding in the washer and hallway is cleanish (luckily got laminate flooring in there!) - except now its covered in hair from the dog after we have bathed her! So I will need to give that another quick going over once she is dried properly.

Kitchen this afternoon, bathroom as well and all back to normal.

I will have to get the carpet cleaner out and do the stairs, but the whole house needs doing anyway and after cleaning the hall, I realised how dirty it actually was! So I suppose silver linings and clouds and stuff!

Busy doing that, so had no time for putting dinner on! So we are having Spanish Omlete tonight - quick easy and I like it!

And I have decided to buy myself a Bread Maker with my points instead of the SAD clock. Previous poster is right, - if baby is going to get up at that time anyway there is little I can do about it. I might cut her nap time during the day down and spend an extra 20mins at the park to wear her out a bit more though!

My points - going to treat myself! So off to check out the bread recipes on here!

Hope dentist went well and everyone else's day is turning their way too.

'morning. Oops, no sorry, 'afternoon now.

I hardly slept last night. There's a pair of foxes living around here and last night/this morning they made a racket that kept everyone awake. I got out at about 2am and chased them off but the little bu**ers were back at 3am.

And it ain't the first time, either.

They are lovely creatures and I would not harm them for the world, but at one point last night I wished someone had a shotgun and did them in.

Now I'm on coffee and then shall go out to earn some money. Have two surveys in Central London. I get my travel card paid for, so I shall use it also to saunter around shops and see if there is a bargain to be had. I'm looking for a mini-disc Hi Fi to replace my old bashed about Aiwa CD Hi Fi. Not looking for cheap 'n cheerful, I go for quality, but it doesn't mean I won't shop around for the best deal... ;)

    Ta ta, all.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

Yup, was a case of missing paperwork (they lost it!) and a "jobsworth" type sticking her beak into other people's case files (my housing officer is away at the moment) without knowing the full history! Anyway, she eventually apologised for causing me so much stress and assured me that I haven't lost out or been moved off the list or anything, and she will now contact the necessary people to verify the details of my application (which they've already had in writing!) so there's nothing more for me to do now, which is a huge relief!

Thing is, I was so excited when I first saw the letter ... knew it was from them from the logo on the envelope ... as I thought it was going to be an offer of a house, so you can imagine my disappointment when I actually read the letter, which quickly turned to rage once I realised what it said  :o

Oh well, back to just waiting again now for the next letter  I had really hoped to be out of here before xmas but as time goes on I really doubt that's going to be possible now :(

Keep the faith C_Q, just think how much you'll appreciate it when it does happen and you get a lovely new place to live that perfectly meets all your requirements.
I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle
