PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. This thread has turned into something it, on any analysis, wasn't supposed to.
Shall we stop the bickering now?
Lets talk about something light hearted. For example, would Wayne Rooney have missed his wedding if England were in Euro 2008???0 -

Sorry, but the thought of Rooney and No.2 WAG breeding is depressing.

How can you 'look' stupid on an anonymous forum? I think some people need to remember that we're not all sat in a large hall having a discussion, we're actually sat all over the country on our computers and no one knows who anyone else is. Therefore terms like "the OP is probably embarrassed", or "I look stupid because I didn't read the OP's full text before I posted" are moot. In Cyberspace, no one can see you blush.
Just to further clarify this because people seem to mix 'forum' with 'real life'. I'm not actually called Mr. Dither and my christian name is not Dithering. I don't even look like my avatar; instead of being a middle aged, short, fat and bald man I am actually young, vibrant, over 6ft tall and my muscles ripple when I move, causing women's eyes to sparkle and lips to drool. I also would never wear a blue shirt with a black tie.
Just to even further clarify the anonymity of a public forum, I could have just made up all of that about the rippling muscles...Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

what i find most interesting is that people dont seem at all offended by the glee with which a lot of the doom mongers write about falling prices and 'wont that teach homeowners a lesson'. these people seem pleased about people getting into negative equity, and smug that they're not owners and so they wont get 'caught' etc. However, when someone makes a joke in the vein of 'reacting to the doom' in an ironic way, suddenly he is being very offensive and people get angry.0

I was a bit left-footed by it as I don't actually have a sense of humour (I have an oddball Syndrome). I can spot a joke if I am expecting it, but out of the blue I just don't spot them.
I literally take things as I see them/they are presented.
And I don't "do" huggy.
So I had a big problem trying to work out if it was a joke and had to go with "no" as it'd be better to err on that side of things.0
